I will not diss the ranking system after one day of halo, but is anyone else feeling it is a pretty weak system? People are getting ranked diamond already, skipping half of the rankings. What is the fun of that? In previous halos it took months of hard work to receive a good rank and when you finally got it, it felt amazing because you earned it. Its like people are getting ranked high 30s in halo 2 off the bat. I think there should have been a cap at how high u can get ranked off the first 10 games, especially for people that have a 0.8 k/d and got diamond (and you cant de-rank!) . I LOVE halo 5 and i think they did an insane job, but the ranks aren’t sitting well for me. Someone help me feel better about this rankings system because i love playing for ranks and being competitive lol. Thanks friends
They’re earning diamond through their placement matches. It’s not the number system we’re used to where you have to grind out wins for months to get your 50. Instead, it weighs the skill of each team to determine what you have to gain. It only tracks wins and losses, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
Plus, there’s seasons now. Ranks will reset every once in a while, so naturally it’s a bit faster to hit higher ranks.
you can derank I was Gold 2 and de-ranked to Gold 1. Ranking up is for winning matches not for k/d ratio :-).

You can rank down inside your division, but you can’t go from Gold to Silver.

I understand that, but i loved the grind. It still doesnt make sense someone who isnt very good get put in diamond lol. I carried a friend and he got ranked higher. Its whatever i just wanna know how that is possible. And ranks resetting is good to know. thanks for the help man. do you know if they match u up with similar ranks? cuz hes gonna get crushed lol.

The ranking system is to put players of the same skill together… Why should halo veterans be ranked the same as someone who just started playing and isn’t that good? Also the old grind way wasn’t a real skill rank. You leveled up just for playing. Which in no way tells the skill level. I’m loving the ranking system.

I agree with you. People that are vets should get ranked together. Im saying how is a noob a diamond. He isnt even close to being that lol.
It’ll work out. I’m sure in January or February, ranking will be “proper”.
My 10 game trial results were 3 wins, 1 tie and a 0.26 k/d… which somehow equals Platinum 1.

You can go from Gold to silver, not in one night but you can decay if you are on a loosing streak for rank. you go from G1-S6

So the ranking is completely based on W/L? Your stats mean nothing? Because if so it’s LoL all over again and I won’t bother, (and no, I wasn’t stuck in bronze, I hit Diamond but it took a lot effort and was stressful).

They have that. Slayer and Team Arena. i wouldnt solo Team arena, and expect to get Onyx, but i can do Regular slayer and get Plat 4 (current rank atm)

Its not as bad as league. But you do get paired up with unranks as plats a lot sadly.

COG VIN - Yeah they do, you’re right. I was meaning more of two ranks for each playlist. So in Team Arena you have a solo rank and a team rank, which can be different. I think almost everyone loses more often when they go in solo. It sucks though because it makes you not want to play solo if you have a really good rank. Whereas if there were two separate ranks you can go play Team arena solo as much as you want and it won’t affect your team rank?
For example, in Team arena, you could have a solo rank of gold 5, but also in Team arena, you could have a team rank of Diamond 3. Does that make sense? I’m not sure how else to explain it, but it was just an idea. I think it would make a lot of people much happier. That way you can play with your friends and it wouldn’t affect your solo rank if you are that lone wolf kind of player. This would be a double ranking for each matchmaking playlist.

I thought the ranking system would be like Halo 4 or Halo Reach. I think the req system is abit crap but I’m sure it’ll improve later on.

lol i agree completely. You should be able to derank. another thing i dont like is not being able to see the opposing teams ranks when going into a match like other halos.
