Halo 5 Radar

It would be nice to have a radar that works. It doesn’t give you enough distance on Halo 5.

This has been debated since Halo 5’s release.

My biggest complaint is how it now longer indicates whether an enemy is specifically above or below you.

Halo 5 Radar is useless now. I mean even CE radar was better.

I personally don’t use it unless I’m about to walking around a corner and want to know if someone is potentially waiting for me with a shotgun. Looking at the radar means my eyes are paying attention to what’s going on in front of me, and that usually means I’m about to be killed.

I wonder why they haven’t updated. It would be really nice to accommodate us. What you said is part of the problem too

All the Halo games I have no complaints except Halo 5. I am so used to looking at my radar. By the time I see someone…I am dead

Especially when they use the “Spartan Charge”

Yeah, it’s become more of a camping tool. It’s still useful while on the move, just not nearly as much as it used to be.

In FFA it’s especially frustrating. Not only are the spawns god awful, you can’t even try to defend yourself when you get shot from behind. By the time you try and turn around, they are pretty much 2 or 3 shots ahead of you and finish you off. So yes the radar would work a lot better if it was 25m instead of 18m in arena playlists.

I agree

I’m so sorry but…

It’s a motion tracker lol

Yeah, I think the radar is essentially broken. It worked in the beta as it has in every other Halo game but then they changed it to the point where it’s of no use. They’ve been stubborn about it and won’t change it back. It’s on the list of things I don’t like about Halo 5.

I don’t think they should of changed either it but it doesn’t look like they’ll do anything about it. :frowning:

Why won’t they change it, though?! Just about everybody hates how tiny and almost useless it is.

I disagree. Many would prefer there be no radar at all and I’d say 343 tried to comprimise for those wanting radar and those wanting no radar by shortening the radar a bit to where you won’t see anyone unless they’re right next to you.

I also think with the shortening of radar it’s encouraged more use of the abilities (no fan of the abilities besides thruster) and map movement which I can understand if that’s what 343 was going for, but it can be done in better ways from my perspective.

That made the game way too easy… Back in the original trilogy, there was a bit of skill in interpreting the radar because a red dot was a red dot… It wasn’t even faded if the enemy was on a different floor.

It added another layer to being aware of your surroundings, for sure… Adding arrows and faded dots have just dumbed the game down.

People want the radar removed? Since when?

Competitive play is where you’ll see the “no radar” arguement. The reason being having the radar gives you free information.

Oh, I see.

I don’t know about you but, I personally never put too much weight in the motion tracker. In Halo CE when we played matches my friends and I almost always have it turned off.
