Halo 5 Radar is broken

I can never understand why 343 just changes things that were similar in every other halo. In Halo 5 the radar’s distance is now 18m when in every other halo game it was 30m making the radar in halo 5 virtually useless, by the time you see someone on your radar you are either being shot already or already dead. Either fix the radar to what it was in previous halos or take it out completely because as it stands right now it is just a distraction and gets you killed more than it helps.

Old hunters trick: Use your eyes.
The radar can be useful but its more distraction.

Worst radar ever

Worst spawn system EVER

I 100% agree. This distance is assault rifle kill distance. If you see the red dot on ure radar the enemy is so close you are probably seeing them shoot you in the face anyway. Also how do I tell if an enemy is above or below you? In the beta there was a little up or down arrow next to the bright red dot. Now I barely see the faint red tiny dot on my radar. Please fix!

The dot is fully red when on the same level and shading if lower or above

Radar just promotes campy play and ruins stealth, it also encourages kids to crouch shoot with autos(since that’s what everybody is using anyway lol) which severely reduced the spread making them far more influential than they should given the role they occupy, radar can be in more casual playlists, but take it out of team arena.

I don’t find the radar a big deal. But than again thats my opinion. I’m only saying this because I don’t rely on radar that much. It doesn’t affect how many kills I get.

Every day this gets created as a thread.

The Radar is fine people. 30m radar makes the whole match a radar-watch-fest. Playing heads up Halo is so much better.

radar is perfect

This is clearly a matter of opinion. With the lack of Radar People are camping more than I have ever seen in any Halo. they are playing it like they play COD.

The radar s just fine. Quit whining.

Radar system is retarded. I can’t tell if they are above or below sometimes.

I think it promotes movement. I haven’t really noticed the camping levels of H3 and Reach. Sure people are going to camp, but I feel like the majority of players are on the move.

Thank god the radar is back to being not so noob-friendly again. Halo 4 and Reach had gigantic noob-friendly radars.
Thanks 343, for going back to smaller radars.
The number doesn’t say a lot though, because each meter is relative to each game.

No a LACK of radar promotes campy play. I’ll use myself as an example. I don’t move around the maps nearly even close to what I’ve done in prior games because I don’t want to walk around a corner and be surprised by 3 players. or pass somebody and get assassinated because I just happened to look in the other direction first. LOTS of people are now playing that way. The find a corner and stay there so they don’t get shot in the back.

radar has always been apart of halo. its apart of its dna. 343 keeps trying to make their own footprint on the game and so they are failing miserably. changing simple things like the radar and aiming that never needed to be changed is just a waste of time and it failed.

Going back ? What are you talking about, every halo has had a larger radar except this one.

yes, it forces me to play this way also, unfortunately.

I would also argue and say its hurting Warzone as well. I’ve lost count of the games I’ve played and see players will just hangout at the base. at least at the bases there are marines that can take a few shots to set off the radar so you have a fighting chance. I hate it. I love the game and will continue to play but that aspect I absolutely despise. I’ve lost count in Warzone too of the times I pass a rock or structure and there is 2 or 3 players or MORE with little to no warning. I now play Warzone like i play Battlefield. I have to be paranoid all the -Yoink!- time.Every time I go out in to the slighted open area look both ways multiple times then run like crazy to the next cover area. I’ve accepted it the way it is. But given the chance to change it I would.
