Halo 5:Quickest I've quit playing Halo multiplayer

Just to be clear, I liked the story and I liked Halo 4.

And I will still play Warzone with friends once in a while.

However, I can’t stand multiplayer. Easily the worst Halo multiplayer game. Why?

  1. Overpowered Pistols. Oh how I hate overpowered pistols. It completely removes the point of running to get a DMR or BR and eliminates the reward of getting a weapon or unpredictability. This is my biggest complaint. This is a game killer.

  2. Maps. There aren’t enough maps obviously and the maps that they do have are just horribly. Completely symmetrical with no memorable aspects to them. Every Halo game (even 4) had maps that stood out and that you can recall specific instances or tactics. This game… ? Easily the worst maps of any Halo game.

  3. Playlists. I know they are going to be added later, but it’s completely inexcusable that a game launched with so few playlists.

It sucks because I really wanted to like the game, but oh well. I’ll either go back to MCC or just play Battlefront in a few days.

People cry about wanting the old Halo Pistol back. 343i does this and people complain about it.

People want more symmetrical maps. 343i does this people complain

People want a more competitive Halo. 343i brings in the pros and does this…People complain.

I’m starting to think this community…Has problems

me too

Yeah, they can’t make everyone happy. For me personally, other than the small amount of maps, the multiplayer is perfect. I love the pistol, and I find that EVERY weapon in the game is useful in certain situations, unlike other Halo games where only the power/precision weapons were worth using.

I’m the opposite. I think Arena is the best Halo multiplayer yet, but Warzone is just … well, it’s what I put up with to try to get cool armor to wear in Arena.

I’m actually pretty good with the magnum, but my favorite Halo is CE, and Halo 5 aims and feels a lot like CE, so that makes sense to me.

Yeah, I’m an Arena guy too, but I always have so many friends playing at the same time that I’m forced to play Warzone since we all wanna play together. I guess that’s where Big Team Battle could be useful, though I prefer 4v4.

The lack of maps really sucks, but I think Halo 5 is a huge improvement from Halo 4, this is coming from someone who hated halo 4 though.

You liked the campaign but hated the multiplayer? That’s the exact opposite of how I feel. But there are not enough maps, gametypes, and playlists. I just like the PvP so I guess the Beta was the only highest of Halo 5 for me.

I like the campaign (thought it did feel like they changed some part of the story or some levels late into development).

K bye!

I just don’t get the appeal of having such a powerful pistol. Of course everyone has their preference and 343 can’t make everyone happy, this just isn’t for me.

I loved the unpredictability. Does the red dot on my screen have a br, dmr, shotgun, something else? Or, quick, I need to get a BR because it has a ton of value.

Now, it doesn’t really matter because everyone has a powerful pistol. That just isn’t Halo to me.

And were people really asking for more symmetrical maps? Some of the most popular maps ever (Ivory Tower, Ascension, Zanzibar, Beaver Creek, Lockout, The Pit, etc.) aren’t completely symmetrical. And if they are, they at least have memorable quirks or additions that prevent it from JUST being a big circle.

Starting, the Halo community has had issues for years.

I think 343 has adopted Sonys way of what they did with the PS4. Sony appealed to the hardcore gamers. It paid off well. 343 with Halo 5 has appealed to the hardcore fans. However it remains to be seen if it will payoff like it did for Sony. The problem for 343 is trying to appeal to hardcore players while also making the game appealing to everybody else. I’m somewhere between casual and hardcore. I’m still on the fence about this game. Some times I love it. Some times I hate it. I’ll give it another month to see if any updates influence me either way.

You must work for the sports media. Nice job taking a part of a quote and running with it.

To be clear, I never wanted any of those things. Not sure why me being unhappy with the changes equals a problem with the community.

But again, if you enjoy it good for you.

No matter what 343i does, there will always be people who complains about something.

Well… duh. That’s not just exclusive to 343 you know. No matter what anyone does, someone will complain or be dissatisfied.

I have absolutely no problems with the pistol. I was a huge fan when Halo:CE Anniversary came out. As for the maps/competitive Halo… I wish I was on the forums when people were saying that so I could tell them to -Yoink- off. Why would we cater to wannabe pro players when the majority of players want the multiplayer to be generally fun? You can still pwn noobs on fun and beautiful maps. The Halo 5 maps are lacking character in a major way. The mechanics feel great but these small–Yoink- boxed in maps need some diversity.
