Halo 5 Pre-Order numbers

Just wanted to discuss the Halo 5 pre-order numbers and what this could potentially mean in the long run.

So here is the list of most pre-ordered games in the USA (11/29/14) -

1 - The Order 1886 [PS4] (137,796)
2 - Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix [PS3] (119,652) - Release 12/2/14
3 - Batman: Arkham Knight [PS4] (116,600) - Release 6/2/14
4 - Dying Light [PS4] (108,722) - Release 1/27/15
5 - The Witcher 3 [PS4] (104,377) - Release 2/24/15
6 - Halo 5: Guardians [XOne] (100,336) - Release N/A
7 - The Elder scrolls Online [XOne] (97,756) - Release N/A
8 - The Crew [PS4] (93,381) - Release 12/2/14
9 - The Elder scrolls Online [PS4] (83,550) - Release N/A
10 - Monster Hunter [3DS] (76,056) - Release N/A

As we can see Halo 5 is number 6, however as Kingdom hearts 2.5 remix is releasing this week it should move to 5th place. Halo 5 has a weekly change of 2,400 copies though I believe this will likely increase while the beta has launched.

When comparing these stats up against a game like Halo 4 (1 year from launch) we start to see Halo 5 currently 72,000 behind Halo 4 and I believe sales for Halo 5 will rise this month and in January due to the beta.

Another factor to take into consideration is the XBOX ONE with a install base of 8 million consoles compared to Halo 4’s install base which was almost 10X the amount, now we start to see that Halo 5 is doing rather considerably well even without a release date. From now till fall 2015 I can see Xbox One hitting 15-18 million consoles only allowing Halo 5 guardians to substantially selling huge, BUT how huge?..let me know what you guys think.

who cares right now? lets wait until oktober september time and and see how many pre orders there are.

Not even hating on Halo 5 about how disappointing it looks. But who in their rite mind would pre-order another game made by 343??? Halo 4 wasn’t as bad as Halo:MCC but it still took 6 months to get it feeling like a halo and 80% of the population had already quit playing it. Then we get Halo:MCC and look how incomplete that game is, it needed another good 3+ months IMO. 343 has lost my trust completely in making Halo titles because of their past failure.

Totally understand that. Though when looking at it from different perspectives I doubt the beta is launching for no reason surely 343i could’ve launched MCC and then launched the Halo 5 beta in July, sept of 2015.

Honestly, it dumbfounds me that 343 didn’t have a beta for MCC. But personally i think they didn’t really care about MCC all that much since it wasn’t their game. Only game that was their was halo 4 and MOST of the community hated Halo 4. So i feel like they just half-a$$ed it and spent most of their efforts to make sure their “baby” (halo 5) will be perfect. At least perfect in their standards.

People who may not have hated Halo 4 and/or people not turned off by the MCC’s poor launch for one reason or another? Not sure why that is confusing.

I still play and enjoy Halo 4. -Yoink- me, right?

It’ll sell I think but maybe not the same amount as 4 within the first year, could be wrong still a year away till launch.

I seriously see The Order being a disappointment, btw. From what we’ve seen so far. I hope it’s good though. Sorry if it’s a bit unrelated.

halo 5 is amazing, end of story.

I don’t think it was only 343’s fault. Microsoft clearly wanted TMCC to be out by the holidays, so they rushed 343 to get it out by the deadline. Not to mention multiple studios worked on it, and it’s 4 seperate games with different engines all in on. If 343 had more time to work on it, I bet it would work fine.
