The H4 menu user interface was un-intuitive and made it more difficult to see something as simple as someone’s gamertag. I posted this picture a while ago before H4’s release and i wanted to reintroduce it because i feel something like this (a sort of cross-breed between H4’s “playercard” style and the basic pre-game lobby style HCE through Reach had used) is the best option for user interface. Everything is clear, concise and detailed.
The stats that I display don’t need to be exactly as shown. Some players who don’t pay attention to stats can be turned off by having all their stats so easily accessible but even something in the style of H3 with your total xp, games played and playlist specific xp is useful.
Looks great!
Speaking of pre-match stuff, I thought of an idea where before the match starts, there could be a short warmup period between the players. There’d be no scoring, just a bunch of players randomly killing each other for practice for a few minutes or until 3/4 of the players ready themselves by pressing BACK.
I feel like something like that would be a bit annoying. You don’t really need to warm up before every game and usually i just warm up by playing one or two games in a playlist that i don’t care about or a party game playlist.

Then the players could press BACK to ready up, skipping the warmup sequence
Anything over those damn baseball cards.

One of the biggest problems in the lobby design of Halo 4?
EMBLEMS.
As in, you can barely see them. Or their backgrounds.
Even when you call up a player’s card, the emblem gets really big, and…the Spartan stands RIGHT IN FRONT OF IT. So that you still can’t see it. Yeesh!
People use emblems to identify themselves, and it’s one of the most key elements of personalization in the entire game. How could 343i not understand this?
Anyway, end of rant. I’d love to see the return of nice and -Yoink!- emblems.
