I’m getting so sick of people saying halo 5 is a copy of cod, specifically from this guy (un4given) first I have played halo 5 and its more competitive than most Halos and up to par with halo 2.
343 learned from there mistake, they have balanced it, same loadouts, weapons on the map, area a based maps, its amazing!
plus cod takes very little skill and is more about just getting the jump on someone.
halo had to evolve, and this time they found how to do it right, dont worry guys its amazing especially if your competitive like me.
“a good halo player can beat a good cod player, a good cod player cant even get close to beating a good halo player” I have tested it
Halo 4 didn’t even play like CoD so I expect Halo 5 to play even less like it.
everyone who claims halo plays like cod has clearly no clue…comprehensive gaming aspects don’t make games play alike
I don’t even think Halo 4 played that much like CoD. It no doubt adopted some features from modern games such as custom load-out, perks, permanent sprint and rewards for killing players which affect gameplay. But these don’t necessarily belong to CoD alone. Rather, those were staple features of many popular FPS games. They didn’t work well with Halo’s formula, but Halo 4 still bears a lot of resemblance to Halo.
Those being long kill times, large jump heights, regenerating health, similar controls, a two weapon limit and an emphasis on grenades, guns/vehicles and melee (with the awkward armour abilities as a fourth layer). I mean, the game wasn’t exactly like Call of Duty. It played more like a game heavily inspired by modern FPS trends. It didn’t work, but you can’t say it was just Call of Duty with Halo’s visuals.
Halo 5 plays even less like CoD. 343 Industries decided to remove AAs as a fourth layer and replaced it with movement, which is what a lot of FPS games are now capitalizing on. Halo 5 feels more traditionally Halo since the game has fair starts, an attempt to balance weapons, and everybody possesses the same abilities. Skill seems to be the determining factor for winning at Halo 5.
I’ve never thought any of the Halos felt or played like COD. I’m not sure where all the comparisons come from, because the features “ripped from COD” are just features common in modern AAA shooters. But whatevs.
Halo 5 has the potential to be my favorite Halo yet, or at least in quite some time. The gameplay felt great overall… the maps have to be good though.
Eden was the only weak one from the beta IMO, so they’re on the right track I’d say…

i can only imagine how clan raids will go cause of the abilities and iron sights
Sprint
Over-ranged/powered auto weapons
Bit lower kill times
Sight aiming on all guns…
The only parts they’ve really changed are:
No loadouts
and consistent power weapon spawns
Halo is effectively about as similar to COD as Borderlands is similar to COD i.e. some superficial control mechanics. Halo’s ttk and power weapons create a team focused experience. Halo is far more about flanking, map control, and power weapon control. Using teamwork to create 2v1 moments, etc.
COD is a twitch shooter driven by reaction time where most of the gameplay emphasis is about empowering the individual.
The resulting game play from both games is very different.
It’s comparing apples to oranges, both have similarities and discrepancies, but still different.
They don’t play the same… and Halo 5 didn’t copy AW. They just have the same mechanics ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
i never thought it played like COD. they just took inspiration from other games, which all games do, even halo CE did. the issue i’m seeing is other games are taking things from halo. cod brought in exo-suits to give it more mobility like halo, now they’ve got guns up at all times in the black ops 3 trailer. thrusters were in halo before COD. crysis has more similar abilities. i would even say the first time i played the beta, it reminded me of my titan in destiny.
You forgot to say In my opinion.
I never played COD, so I’ll just leave it to you guys
Umm yeah it does its copied everything from cod. I mean look cod you shoot a gun, in halo you shoot a gun. Boom see halo copied everything

Which one was Eden? The night one with the walkways? I actually think that was my favourite.

Dude I know CoD totally made those mechanics. It doesn’t matter if they play completely differently, they’re still CoD!

Yep, Eden and Truth were mine.
