Halo 5 Players- I come to you from Destiny!

Hello Halo 5 players,
I am an avid player of the game Destiny and I am quickly losing interest. With the release of The Taken King DLC, the game seemed to offer more content in the newly implemented form of quests. Though it captivated me at first, the constant grind fest is eroding the sense of fun away, and I’m starting see through Bungie’s desperate attempts to keep people playing.
The last Halo game I really played was Halo 3, and it remains one of my favorites to this day.
Having paid a staggering $40 for the Taken King DLC only about a month ago, I’m on the fence about purchasing another game. Any past Destiny players that can provide some input?

Well here’s your first problem: You’re an avid destiny player.

Get the game you wont regret it. Im loving the multiplayer and campaign. A lot of people on here are complaining about minor things

Halo 5 is in a similar boat to Destiny - good gameplay but not much else to offer, forcing you to wait for DLC. The only difference between the two is that Halo had a creative community, but those days seem to be long since faded.

The campaign blows and there’s quite a few things that need fixed for multiplayer but it has potential.

Quite a lot of us feel year one destiny was a $100 beta and refused to pay $40 for a total of $140 with no where near that much worth in content. Btw in six months or so youll be forced to buy an expansion and all the stuff you have will become worthless in destiny based on their prior behavior. Seeing how the added $10 dance emotes i dont see anything changing.

H5 plays a lot like H2 just with more movement options. We are also getting free dlc guaranteed with more free things coming.

This. Although, Halo 2 was nothing but laggy and lag switchers for me back in the day.

If you’re in it for the story than stay away, but for a good time in MP then I say go for it. I played destiny for about 7 hours and grew extremely bored of it. I’ve put about 30 hours into halo 5 since launch… on Tuesday…

Yeah, I’d have to say if you aren’t familiar with Halo or the story behind it the campaign isn’t going to be for you at all. MP is fun, we need some more Arena playlists though. Warzone’s really been the only thing holding me since launch.

My problem with Destiny is that it is a social game with very few in game social tools. The fans had to make an LFG tool because Bungie never got around to do it themselves and now that the fans stepped up for them, they have seen fit to not bother putting any group finder tools in game. That’s pretty poor development if you ask me.

If you like cut up games where the dev wants to sell you each piece then so be it.

343i wont force you to buy the DLC maps.

Destiny and Halo 5 are similar in that both stories suck. The difference is that Destiny didn’t even seem to try and 343i seemed to put a lot of effort into a convoluted mess that only the hardcore lore fans enjoyed, and even then some of those guys hated it.

I went back to Destiny from Halo 5. The multiplayer of Halo just doesn’t captivate the fun factor that Destiny offers. Sure Destiny is laggy, less balanced, more chaotic, but also a lot more fun. And fun in the end is why I play my games.

I say go for it. Full fledged, up to 4 players co-op campaign, perfect ranking system, war zone and free DLC you can go wrong

disclaimer: I thought Destiny was the worst game I’ve ever played and paid for. ($89.99 to be exact)

dont do it not yet

Well your on a halo website so get halo 5 but I hear destiny is batter than halo

Unless you are super into competitive multiplayer, I would simply rent it or not even touch it. It has the worst campaign of any Halo game. So don’t let that factor into your decision.

I’m a Halo veteran and have been playing Destiny almost exclusively for the past year.

I like them both. But if I had to choose, I would choose Destiny, because at this point there’s just more content and I like the RPG elements. The Halo 5 campaign is lacking, and while multiplayer is great as always, nothing beats the intensity of Trials of Osiris.

To some degree though it’s apples and oranges. People probably wouldn’t make the comparison in the first place if Bungie wasn’t behind Destiny.

Holy -Yoink- are you for real?.. The worst campaign? Far from it. Halo 1 campaign, remember that pile of -Yoink-? Barely a story in it. How about that one mission… The labyrinth? Or the Archive? What’s it called? Labelled the worst map in any shooter ever of all time. With lots of missions just being: “Do this objective. Great. Now do it exactly three times more.” How about Halo ODST? Sure the mechanics were cool but the story was -Yoink-. A bunch of people joking around as their home planet and last world get’s attacked by the covenant who have succesfully taken colony after colony. Even Halo 2, while it build up to something great, had a terrible -Yoinking!- ending. “Master chief may I ask what you are doign aboard that ship?” “Sir, finishing this fight.” remember that -Yoink-? Get lost… Halo 4 even… Don’t get me started on Halo 4.
