So I just got Halo 5: Forge yesterday and btw it runs terribly on my laptop. Anyways I noticed while I was in a custom game that my Spartan had a shadow. I’m wondering why the console doesn’t have shadow for your own player especially because my laptop isn’t even as good as Xbox one
I noticed it too. I just hope halo moves onto just PC (Most likely wont though.)

Your Spartan does have a shadow in certain lights on certain 343 non-forge maps. Your Spartan doesn’t have any shadow in forged lights (which needs to be an option for a light to cast Spartan Shadows). Interestingly, your Spartan’s shadow from the map’s sun doesn’t show in first person, but does show in third person.
I think they removed/reduced the first person shadow a lot to increase performance on the XBone. That really annoys me, because in the beta, you had a dynamic full body shadow in most spots in first person AND it even rendered onto your arms and gun when the light was behind you. It looked much better.

Microsoft will never let them put it only on PC.
