Anyone want the Halo 1/2/3 plasma rifle back in Halo 5? I really liked the artistic design of the original plasma rifle, which looks much better than the storm rifle. It could definitely work in Warzone too, here are my thoughts:
REQ Level 2: Regular Plasma Rifle (Blue), from Halo 1, has STUN effect, works great for mid range too
REQ Level 3: Brute Plasma Rifle (Red), from Halo 2, fires 50% faster than the regular plasma rifle but overheats 25% faster
REQ Level 4: Ultra Plasma Rifle (Pink) - shoots pink rounds, the same ones found in the ULTRA Ghost
REQ Level 9: Scarab Plasma Rifle (Green) - shoots scarab rounds from Halo 2, but OVERHEATS with each shot (10 shots in battery)
Storm Rifle replaced Plasma Rifle. I hope to see it again, I like it better.

Yes, but the storm rifle is more of an SMG style plasma rifle, the old style was a bit better at range. It would be nice to see the original CE rifle with stunning effects.
I’ve always hated the storm rifle, if only because it looks like a carbine from a distance and I’m let down when I see what it actually is. I wouldn’t mind if the plasma rifle returned in Halo 6 and the storm rifle died on its way back to its home planet or something.
Halo 1 Plasma Rifle was boss because it made it’s target move and turn slower. That would be cool in this games sandbox
I wouldn’t mind it coming back either. I really liked the Plasma Rifle.
I would definitely be on board with this idea, i love both weapons, so why not have em both. I always have liked the plasma rifle, the storm rifle in Halo 4 was super weak but in 5 they buffed it and made it amazing!

Plasma Rifle sucked. Why bring back a gun just for no one to use it in multiplayer?

Someone else who didn’t play CE. It wrecked players, had a stun effect on impact and was actually really accurate. You could practically snipe with it!

Yeah, but they could just as easily make a Storm Rifle variant that does the same stuff as far as Warzone is concerned.

You mean like they did with the Needle Carbine? It seems more likely to get in as a Storm variant unfortunately.

Agreed, another case of 343 putting their unneeded stamp on everything.
The Plasma Rifle was in later games more of an SMG, it only had rifle range in CE, so the short design made sense, plus alien mechanics were cool. The Storm Rifle is if anything even more close range than the SMG and yet is as big as a DMR, kinda odd design right? Also for a weapon that is supposed to be an upgrade of the old version, it has worse accuracy at range, overheats quickly, and has terrible battery capacity.
I think that the storm rifle design is much better I however would wish that the the storm rifle had a bigger range and didn’t kill so quickly.
