This is a fair point, but at the same time add-on games could be uninstalled for sizing reasons just like the others. It would also allow for more cross game playlists which I do think is a nice feature in MCC. But at the same time lots of the unlocks are so different it might just make it easier to port to PC outside of MCC as is. Who knows? I’d be happy with either result.

True. I forgot you could uninstall each game separately. But I mean if you have all the games installed, that would be a hefty package.

Haha. If I want to play Halo 5 I have to boot up my 2013 Xbox One. Old thing is still running.

One of my buds still has his OG X1. The thing is so loud that you’d think a Honda’s turbo is engaging in your living room. Not bad for a VCR.

They could do what they did when they launched the new MCC updates and have a button that would open up Halo 5. That way it can still be accessed from MCC and it can be its own separate app at the same time.

although this is still discussed quite a bit, 343 they make it clear that H5 Forge is more than enough for H5 on PC. I wish all of H5 was on PC, but with the release of Infinite, that will be long forgotten.

I highly doubt that they’re going to leave H5 as the only halo game not on PC. It may take a while, but it will be added eventually in some way.

I would be happy if that happens later, or at least they improve H5 for Series X since not even that has.

Yeh so regardless of it being in MCC or not if you wanted to play them all you’d have to have them all installed. As you pointed out it’d be like CoD warzone lmao. But tbh my PC has more storage than my Xbox. Memory is so cheap these days so it’s less of a concern for me personally. But being able to play campaign at my desk without having to haggle with my Xbox would be a win. The modding would be cool too.

True. I just wonder if it would be harder for 343 to update the game since the full package would be so large. I have no knowledge of how updating a live service game works, especially a game that contains many other separate games, but I know Bungie had to remove content from Destiny 2 because it was getting too big for them to update. I just think it would be better if Halo MCC just had the option to launch Halo 5 from the MCC menu, kind of like Battlefield does. This way it technically is still in the game but it is also separate.
As much as I would like Halo 5 to come to PC, I think that ship is kinda sailed at this point. I do think this was a mistake on 343’s part though, as it would make sense for the PC crowd to experience Halo 5 before going into Infinite. Maybe someday, though.

That is an interesting idea! I suspect the issue with destiny would be different since it is one codebase and one game. Monolithic codebases are a disaster to maintain. But if you have it silo’d like MCC I suspect you have dedicated teams for each game and manage it differently. Changes to Reach do not affect Halo 3: ODST. That said the launch from menu is pretty sweet and I would appreciate that.
Fairly late my self to the topic, but it would be nice to see it come to PC even if it comes later on after Infinite releases.
We have (nearly) every other Halo title on PC, and it would be nice to have the mainline titles accessible even if it was separate from MCC or not. I’m in no rush to play it, but I would greatly enjoy being able to own them all on PC again. Even if its not a priority for 343, it would be nice to have even as a potential port.
Here is a thought, maybe Halo Infinite forge mode will be so advanced, that the community will be able to recreate the Halo 5 campaign inside Infinite forge. I know how nuts this sounds though lol.
Reminds me of the situation when halo 3 was out for a few years and wasnt ported to pc until mcc came out
God the time between the release of 2 and 3 on pc was hell lmfao.
Um, I think you mean more than just a few years lol, since Halo 3 was released on Xbox in 2007, but did not come to PC till MCC was ported in 2020. So it was like 13 years that it took Halo 3 to come to PC, so um ya here is to hoping that even though we are 6 years post xbox launch of Halo 5, that we get a Halo 5 PC port before we hit that 13 year mark lol.
