You can play it on xcloud. You just need game pass ultimate, a compatible controller and let’s say at least 20mbps steady (even though they suggest 10 as minimum). For playing the multilayer I wouldn’t recommend it, too much input lag.

I disagree, halo ce eventually came out for pc as well, the same did halo 2. Porting the series to pc is the natural choice if you want to keep it alive, you are able to reach new players and reconnect with those who played as kids (undoubtedly people having a pc are more than those having a console).
I’d also like to say that a game is what it’s coded for, it’s not a definitive God-made decision, as soon as it is coded for pc it’s a pc game as well.

I believe there is a way, you’ll need xbox game pass ultimate - it includes cloud gaming from xbox. Requiraments: 20+ Mbps internet and compatible controller. You will basicly be playng on a remote xbox.

Heavily disagree with this but I do think controller users should still be the focus. After testing Infinite, it seems that isn’t the case. Aim assist is almost non existent on it to this point.
If they do port it, i hope they get rid of the online only crap. i.e. forge and warzone firefight not having offline / local play. That ruined the game for me. As i was never going to get xbl gold just to try out firefight and forge…i just completed the campaign and got rid of the console.

You can play it via Xbox Cloud if you subscribe to Game Pass Ultimate. You will have to play with a controller though :<

Even if so, It’s great for people who want to play it on PC can play it on pc such as myself, and console players can still continue to enjoy halo on console. Doesn’t really ruin anything and instead makes a great series more accessible. Will agree that they shouldn’t leave consoles out.

I appreciate the help, unfortunately I’ve become so accustomed to playing Halo with a keyboard and mouse so this solution may not be ideal for me haha
Thank you guys, really appreciate the info <3
I believe it is just about the time again to call for Halo 5 to hit Steam. So here we go, keep the fires of hope burning. After Infinite, 343, please make it happen.

UPDATE, got it to launch… Solution to Halo5 Forge launch. Delete the Halo App (not Halo5 Forge) from your PC.
{It should be under Windows Setting/Apps/Halo}
Then download the new “Xbox Console Companion”
Open the XCC and find the game list and then launch Halo5 Forge from there.
…still can’t play the campaign but at least now I can do the multiplayer <3
At this point in time, there is little to no reason to port Halo: 5 to PC. You can play it in a very scuffed form over xcloud on PC if you want, which is what I did recently. Everything feels off because of the delay but I think xcloud will get the delay down considerably with the dedicated windows app for xcloud, browser based is just too slow for cloud gaming imo. Running it locally will always be better of course, but porting Halo 5 is simply wasted effort at this time. Maybe it will be added to the MCC years from now, who knows.

Yea, agreed but I do hope they do release it at some point not to MCC, but as a separate game. Adding that to MCC is basically impossible and would just be better as it’s own standalone title. Or well people could play Halo 5 forge and I guess get some attention for it so 343 might consider porting it in the future
A 2 and a half year old post still being this talked about.
anyway i wouldnt expect halo 5 on pc until way after halo infinite comes out. while most agree that halo MCC’s unlock system is great, most also agree that 5’s wasnt. and if they bring 5 to pc then there will be a wave of new halo 5 players that will spread discontent about “scummy loot boxes” right before they ship their new baby.

I don’t think the game would fit in the MCC. It definitely would make the game WAY too big. I mean if they are down to have a game size as big as COD MW then go for it, but it is not ideal. I would think it would be added as a standalone game on Steam and the Microsoft Store.
