> > > > >
> > > > > Did you bother to look at the publish date on that article? Its MAR 31, 2016, and that is before MCC was announced for PC, or before we even knew anything about Infinite and that it was coming to PC. Since that article was published Microsoft has gone in hard on PC gaming and making xbox more accessible to all. Also as previously stated, 343 has publicly said said that there are no plans at this time to port Halo 5, not that it wont ever happen. So next time check the publish date on your source first to make sure its not outdated.
> > > >
> > > > i mean reguardless of publish date⦠it still seems that Phil spencerās words still hang true. do you see halo 5 on pc? do you see it even talked about by any microsoft or 343 staff/devs
> > >
> > > If Philās words were true then MCC would never have been ported to PC, also Infinite was delayed for 1 year due to not enough being done on it, so they are currently all hands on deck to make sure its released this year, end of story, so they donāt exactly have a lot of extra man power to spare on an H5 port right now. So they actually have a good excuse for the moment on why we have heard nothing on an H5 PC port.
> >
> > I think it will be very interesting to see what the sustained demand and population effects are for H5 after Infinites release. For a long time I have thought that if we dont get a port before Infinite we will probably not be getting a port at all, but I guess time will tell shortly.
>
> Very true, part of me thinks all of the Halo games mp population will tank due to everyone moving to Infinite, while another part of me thinks that certain older Halo titles will keep a good population going, since they wont be festering with 10 year olds getting on the multiplayer for free like Infinite will have to be dealing with, ah the joys of free to play.
Haha, yea I guess the future will tell. I think MCC may be able to retain a good chunk of its pop, H5 I am guessing will drop off extremely and might have a bit of that slow return you described but again I see that as more of an MCC strength. H5 wasnāt my favorite though so I may be biased.

Not that this is the best solution, but if you are wanting to play through H5 campaign before Infinite comes out, I suggest you look into Xbox Cloud gaming for PC. You will need to make sure its supported by Microsoft in your region, you will need an Xbox controller for you PC, you will need a stable internet connection with 10Mbps down minimum, and you will need al least 1 month of Gamepass Ultimate to use the Cloud Gaming during that time. Of course I would suggest canceling Gamepass after you have gotten though H5, but thatās just my 2 cents.

Really? Nice ill have to check that out. I heard some people complain that its bad, but i donāt think it will be. Iv never played a bad halo before.
For people starting the license via the MCC release, itās a shame for them not to have access to the game that will allow them to understand a lot of the context of Infinite. But from a porting point of view, it must be quite complicated for them, not to mention that the game was quite heavy.
I still hope to see it on PC one day!

Personally I have started playing Halo 5 on the cloud gaming service and I rarely have issues, sometimes the connection to the server cuts out (like maybe once a week tops) but that might just be my connection, in general I donāt get much lag either, only a tiny amount of input delay with my controller but its tolerable. Grinding for 152 atm through it and its going well

Playing on Xbox and switching to streaming does have a noticeable jump in lag, but to be honest it only takes a match or two of Firefight before my reflexes start automatically compensating for it.
I wouldnāt suggest going into any competitive matches, to be honest, but it is definitely playable.

Yeah I tried playing swat and realised that unless I camped (boring) or my reflexes were on point I could potentially be losing the game for my teammates or ruining peoples experiences so I figured Iād just stay to firefight

Lucky you! Iāve been struggling with lag from the first day⦠Despite having more than enough download speed on paper.
I jumped on xcloud with enthusiasm since Iāve been longing to play Halo5 but Iām hating the experience. I wish they port it on pc asap since the atrocious input lag and my inability to play any fps without mouse and keyboard pain me.

Yeah, the stream doesnāt really stutter for me so Iām lucky, but I just wanna say that I only really play firefight, I canāt really play PvP with the input lag lol, its bearable vs AI but against other players you canāt compete very easily, I run into a lot of bugs too but idk if thatās just the game or not
Iād love a PC port of halo 5 just to make the game easier to play but I canāt see it happening for a looking time, if at all

Hmm thats not too bad thanks for the heads up, I have not tried cloud gaming before.

Yes! Letās hope they hear us and start working on that. I donāt think it would cost them too much work, after all forge already runs on PC. Iāve read comments on this forum saying that halo 5 almost doesnāt deserve this because it is not as good as the others but I donāt think itās a valid reason, itās a Canon game after all and would make little sense to have halo 6 released everywhere without the fifth chapter.
Moreover being able to play it on your machine maybe with mouse and keyboard would be a great thing.
Pls 343!
