Halo 5 on MCC eventually?

So I never played Halo 5, and I understand that it’s arguably one of the less enjoyable Halo games out there, but I would love to see it come to MCC just to have the option of playing through it. What do you guys think?

No, it will not happen.

Halo 5 and the MCC are already forward compatible with the Series X/S. They have absolutely 0 reason to include H5 in the MCC. It runs on modern hardware and has a supported multiplayer eco system (even if it is very little support). Lumping it in with the MCC won’t improve its performance or offer it any kind of support it doesn’t already receive, and would probably break the memory limits of the Xbox One. The MCC team has already brought up how adding Reach was pushing the Xbox One’s memory to its limit.

The only thing that could possibly be done for H5 would be to port its full experience to PC as a stand alone title, but this doubtful to happen before H6’s release.

I honestly think 343 will get Halo 5 to PC before Infinite launches because after Infinite no one will care about 5 and it’ll just be odd to have all the games on PC except for 1 so I doubt it will come to MCC but I think it will come to PC

Maybe it wil, but after a very long time, when most of the players don’t play it and it will be a DLC.

No it won’t. 343 said Reach almost crashed the entire thing. Halo 5 is the biggest out of all the games in mcc. Imagine what it would do to it.

Yeah extremely unlikely Halo 5 is going to be added to MCC now since 343 is going to be supporting Xbox One and Series X/S for a number of years to come and the filesize of Halo 5 is going to exceed the memory limit of the MCC by a huge margin. At this point, were just going to have to ask 343 to port it to PC as a standalone title. I really wonder if next year 343 can get going on porting this title to PC and maybe flighting it as well before Halo Infinite comes out. Since the MCC team is nearly done with MCC PC’s releases this year and after this they will be in sustain mode with new features and minor content updates (new seasons), I think they can pull enough people together to get a port of this before Infinite comes I believe. I hope maybe this time they can bring back Splitscreen but also implement Cross-play and progression with the Xbox version on the PC launch if this happens. Another reason they should do it now is because of Xbox Gamepass on PC. If you have Gamepass ultimate you have access to both the xbox and pc versions of games and being able to play Halo 5 on PC so it mirrors Xbox I think would be a smart idea. The only concern is for the PC crowd starting out with a new Rank, there would be no way that they would have time before infinite to get the max rank (SR 152).

If you think about it, why put a campaign into the MCC when you play as Master Chief like what, three times out of way more then that?

It’s not called the Master Chief collection because you play as the Master Chief in the games. Reach would like a word.

I wish they offered a discount for those who actually purchased the original games. I understand mcc is a stand-alone with updates and improvements however it kinda sucks to the original player base that goes out and buys the game fresh and new when they come out, just to get hammered again

That’s fair. Reach is an exception though, atleast you’re playing as some more interesting characters then Captain Capture from H5.

It would still be nice to have the whole collection in one place before starting this new chapter with Halo Infinite for the next decade-plus.

Halo 5 is 100GB in size. There is literally no way that it would make it onto MCC.

Halo 5 is too big of a game. Both literally and mechanically. It is almost 100GB in size (that nearly rivals MCC) and has a lot of systems in it that would be a HUGE pain to implement and integrate into MCC. Halo 5 forge? Warzone? REQ Packs? Halo 5 is just too big and since its BC and on Gamespass, it makes little sense.

I dont think so, MCC is for xbox one also Halo 5, so why would Halo 5 will be in MCC, the only possibility is that Halo 5 will be in PC but no mcc

IMO, H5 has the most enjoyable multiplayer/gameplay in the franchise.

As others have stated, Halo 5 is simply way too big. It takes up 100GB or so. Adding that to MCC would be an absolute pain. Maybe they could port the multi and campaign later on to PC. I would say after Infinite is out and running. Pretty sure there is a Forge version of the game already out on PC too.

I don’t think it will be added the MCC but hopefully some day in the future they with add it to the Xbox store app or some digital marketplace online for us PC players as I would much rather play with keyboard and mouse than a controller.

IF they put it on pc I would buy it and I know a lot of other people would too. I may be in the minority (or maybe not, who knows…) but I really enjoyed Halo 5 at a friend’s house (I don’t have an Xbox) and even thought the story was…interesting… the gameplay was phenomenal. 343, if you see this, please port H5 to pc! I understand it wouldn’t fit in the MCC but it would be awesome as a standalone title, and, let’s face it, there are a lot of people out there still playing H5 on console regardless of the amazing success of the MCC on pc. It would be awesome to increase the player base on pc and it would be a good business decision for 343. Plus we all know people will need a little something to hold them over until Infinite drops…

Plus it’s already partially pc-compatible with the Forge package and everything; it’s not like 343 would have to start porting it to pc from the ground up; it’s already partially done, so why not finish it?
