I have recently “upgraded” to an Xbox One. First game I have been playing is Halo 5 - I was playing offline as I play solo most of the time.
I have progressed through many of the levels but when I went back in lately, there is no saved game data and all my achievements have disappeared.
When I go into the Campaign - Solo option it will only show me the option to start a new game.
MIcrosoft web chat weren’t much help other than to suggest trying here.
Is there any way to recover my games or is the only option to start from the beginning? Not happy as have invested quite a few hours progressing the game.
Also, is this a Halo 5 problem or does it happen with other Xbox One games?
If you were playing offline and never connected to the internet, then the only save data should be on your console. If you go to “Manage Game” for Halo 5, you should see all download data and save data for that game. If you do not see a save data file for Halo 5, then it seems like the data got deleted. Normally, playing while connected to the internet provides a backup which is saved on 343i’s servers, and if you lose your local data then the game will just resync when you log on. But if you’ve been playing offline this whole time, I don’t see a way of recovering the data.
