The game will re-introduce firefight, and give the opportunity for casual players to see what happened to characters such as Jun (who will be seen during cut scenes trying to convince Buck to become a Spartan). the story of the game could also lead up to Halo 5: Guardians with the eventual end of Buck becoming a Spartan and joining Locke’s team.

I think it’s a good idea, and will give 343 to give us the back story no one gets as they don’t read the books or comics.
I don’t think 343 is going to retell a book’s story in a full-size game, that has reasonably little actual protracted combat, I might add, and thus would make a very poor shooter, just because people don’t want to read said book.
I would enjoy it, but i don’t need it. To tell the truth, after the amazing ending of halo 5, i’m more excited for Halo 6… do you know hard it would be if i have to wait any longer because of an spin-off. Imagine this if bungie would’ve done this with halo 2 ->3

I think a good idea would be to do a halo reach style odst game like make your own odst with different variants of odst. I think ited be cool to have the setting on harvest and at the beginning of the war fight insurrectionist

Halo: New Blood already explores Buck and the ODSTs becoming S-IVs.
I’d rather play as Spartan IVs in actual combat or get to play as Blue Team, I hate Osiris with a -Yoinking!- passion and I never want to see them again except for Buck.
Honestly I just want another Spartan Ops Season, I miss being Fireteam Crimson.
I REALLY want an H6 after the ending of the H5 campaign. At the same time though, it would be really cool to see more of Buck. He carried that entire teams aspect of the H5 campaign. So while I would LOVE to see some more Master Chief and Cortana, I wouldn’t cry over seeing some stuff with Buck. Plus, it wouldn’t take NEARLY as long to develop since the multiplayer is already finished.

New Blood is already written. The problem is it doesn’t contain anything that could be turned into a shooter level. Engagements are short and tense. There are no extended combat pieces. It is not convertible into a shooter.

I just finished reading New Blood. HIGHLY recommend this book. It was awesome and emotional. The way Matt Forbeck described Draco III’s sun was the absolute best imagery in a book in my opinion.
But to answer your question, we have one gap left out from Alpha-Nine, Reach. We know Buck was on Reach, only New Alexandria that we know of. Maybe that time period when it was just Buck, Romeo, Dutch, and Gramps. I don’t think Mickey was in the squad at the time.
I had an idea. When Cortona shuts off earths power at the end of the campaign you could be in an army of ODSTs that defend the earth against attacks since the rest of the Spartans would be on the unsc infinity. And you can fully customise your own oust like in reach. And you could be accompanied by the other Spartans that weren’t on the infinity. This could lead to a great game series that takes you away from the Spartans and puts in a challenge to the game. I think this is a great idea and hope you do to!
