So I haven’t been checking the site lately, but i was wondering, are there plans to bring oddball into arena? I noticed that oddball was supposed to be added into custom games with the hammer storm update (I haven’t looked to see, I didn’t realize it was part of the update until now). Does anyone know?
Oddball was added, kind of.
Instead of adding Assault, Ricochet, Grifball, etc - they created an overall Ball mode that players can edit and create all sorts of modes. They created Assault and Grifball using this new Ball mode but players are also able to make Oddball and Ricochet using this mode.
There’s no word on if 343 industries will take this mode and create an official Oddball variant which will then be added to matchmaking, though.

Yeah, it was a little confusing.
Hoping to see Oddball added officially soon because it would be a great addition for Team Arena and the game as a whole.
I really hope they whip up an official oddball mode and put it in match-making soon (like next update). It’s the primary mode I’ve been craving since launch and I don’t want it to be limited to customs.
Prior to the release of H5G, somebody from Beyond (I think it was saucey, but I’m not sure) spoke to 343 during the HCS about oddball, and they said there were no plans to add Oddball to the game. I’m not talking “at launch”, but like ever. They might have added a ball-type object to forge, but I don’t think they have any intention of officially supporting that gametype.

i dont think there is enough fan base for something like that but you never know

I think more variety would actually help at this point. That’s if halo truly is “dieing” like some think. A lot have said the game lacks variety, adding griffball and assualt has brought back some, more is needed however. Oddball and an official CTF is all I want personally though.
I still do not understand why an objective playlist is not added. Strongholds, CTF, Assult, Grifball, Oddball, and Ricochet! Who wouldn’t want to play that!?! I wouldn’t play anything else, ever.

How can we have oddball without the skull? And anyone else want Headhunter back from reach?

Odball was my shizznit in halo 3. cTF and Odball might be my favorites.
