The problem typically with The O.D.S.Ts is that Spartans are so easy to create, maybe we need to see Orbital Drop Shock Spartans? Could be pretty -Yoink-, a whole new level of badass for Spartans. Maybe some sort of reactionary team deployed for one of the Guardians unearthing and being scattered due to the slipspace rupture effect? Might be too similar. Thoughts?
It could be pretty fun. I wouldn’t mind more drop-in stuff.
The armor description for Jumpmaster states that it’s intended purpose is for exactly this. Basically the Spartans who posses the armor and the training can mimic ODST drops minus the pods. They use their thrusters to stop themselves right before they hit the ground. Neat and all but like the armor says, there’s less injuries this way but if an accident were to occur it’d be far more fatal.
But ODSTs are supposed to do suicide missions, why would you want to waste spartans?
ODST’s are easier to create and train than Spartans and are therefore more expendable than a spartan. Spartans are only used for the most difficult missions where the stakes are highest or the odds are stacked against the UNSC.
Most Spartan IVs are ODSTs so I do not see why not. Masterchief dropped with the helljumpers in Halo 2.
