Halo 5 NPCs

I’m currently trying to reach the lone wolf achievement on H5. After playing the campaign for 1st time in 3 years I’ve realised how horrible the NPCs are… Does any else encounter the idiotic behaviour of these bots?

Are you referring to your allies or enemies? I thought the enemies were still quite fun to fight. If you’re referring to your allies though, yeah they’re not programmed well at all.

Its quite bad.
I ended up having to force myself to pretend they didnt exist.

Having a squad (even if its NPC) gave me a sense I could take risks, because they could revive me.

Nope. You can’t rely on them at all. They almost never make it to you on time, because often a rock on the ground gets in the way of their pathfinding.

If you play it as if it were Halo 4 solo legendary you should be good to go.

(I would tell them to attack certain targets, or use them to run out into an area first as a distraction. That’s about it.)

When you get to the fight with 3 wardens, try to equip them all with incinerator cannons before going in - it actually helped.

Allies… They are absolutely useless. A blind man could shoot his way out of a firefight better lol. I enjoy the enemies NPCs, but you’ll never beat Halo Reaches NPCs quite the challenge.

I can’t deal with it lol. I’m just using the same tactic as yourself, they don’t exist :joy:!
That was my major mistake when I started the campaign… Thought I could jump head first, great fireteam but NO! Absolute disaster haha. It is a joke with the amount of objects that so easily get in the way plus the fact they seem so blind to the danger when you need revived.
Thank so much for the heads up with the incineration cannon tip! You wouldn’t believe the struggles I’ve been having with these boss fights! Don’t know why I didn’t think of it duhh

Haha yep, at least when they don’t come to revive you, you just play it a bit safe the next time around. Kat driving you off a cliff meant you couldn’t enjoy the Rocket Turret!

You can just skip them

Yes, but that doesn’t make me feel happy about beating the game/level.
