Hello Waypoint Community, it might seem a bit pointless, but I sort of want to discuss the fact that there seems to be a small amount of products associated with Halo 5. From what I am able to tell, we are getting or have gotten the McFarlane 6-inch figures, Halo Mega Bloks, various shirts/ accessories such as backpacks, Halo Monopoly, Fleet Battles, Needler replica, and the Dark Horse ship replicas. Please feel free to add anything I may have missed.
In my opinion, this is sort of disappointing. I don’t think that Halo is even near the tip of the iceberg in terms of products that could be released for the property. What do you guys think? Are you satisfied with the products that are coming out or would like there to me Halo 5-themed, or Halo-themed products in general? If so, what would you like to see to be made?
As a closing note, to me, Halo 5 feels like it has a lot of hype behind it. I haven’t felt this way for a Halo game since Halo 3. I thought Halo 3 had an insane amount of product-support that ranged from McFarlane’s affordable 6-inch figures to WETA’s immaculate, high-end collectibles. The product support Halo 3 received is what I wish Halo 5 would receive. Of course this is unlikely to happen since the game is very close to releasing. Halo 5: Guardians POP! Vinyls; They could make the entirety of Blue Team and Fireteam Osiris, do unhelmeted variants, a 6-inch Guardian, the Arbiter, Palmer, maybe a 6-inch Didact, they could even to vehicles like the Warthog.

A NECA 18-inch Figure Line; Possibly my favorite Halo figure of all time is the 18-inch Halo 4 Master Chief. It is truly a work of art. Anyway, I would love to see NECA tackle major characters from the Halo Universe starting with Halo 5 Master Chief, Spartan Locke, and the rest of Blue Team and Fireteam Osiris. They could expand to include other characters such as Thorne, Palmer, Arbiter, Halo: CE Master Chief, Halo 2 Master Chief, and so on.

A Life-Size 1/1 Scale Cortana Statue; How has this not been made yet? WETA gave us something akin to this with this, but I want something a little different, something more along the lines of this. Now imagine if the base of the statue was her chip? And that the statue also lit up with a blue LED? Maybe it could even be taken a step further and the statue could double as a charger of sorts. For example, this Iron Patriot statue from Iron Man 3 has USB ports to help charge devices. Hell, I even think a Cortana lamp would be cool.

Weapon Replicas; We are getting a Needler from NECA and we have/will get the Plasma and Brute Rifle. However, I want UNSC weapons! I’d love to see the iconic Assault Rifle officially produced as well as the Magnum and the Battle Rifle. The SMG, Silenced SMG, SOCOM, etc.

Dynamic Statues; WETA produced some amazing dynamic statues. I mean this one has Chief dual-wielding a pistol AND an energy sword while slicing and shooting-up some poor Unggoy. I think it would be awesome to have more statues akin to these. Imagine one with Locke and Chief locked in combat or Chief punching a Promethean in the face? Epic? I think so.

Better Figures; Now This one here is a long-shot because McFarlane is not giving up on the Halo license anytime soon. Although the McFarlane figures do have nice sculpts and paint-apps… they leave a lot to be desired. This is mainly due to the figures’ horrible articulation as well as some other issues (I mean those hips… come on…). My dream would be for either McFarlane or (preferably) NECA to reboot the Halo-line of action figures. What I mean by this is start a whole new series of figures that span the entirety of the Halo Universe. Bump up the scale from 6-inch to 8 or 10-inches to allow more details and articulation. Add GOOD hips, double-jointed elbows and knees so that we can get our Spartans to kneel. Pay attention to lore and have the figures all be in-scale with one another. For example, Spartans are larger than Marines, but Elites are larger than Spartans. Spartan-IIIs and IVs are larger than Marines, but smaller than Spartan-IIs. Samuel and Jorge are larger than Chief, but Chief is bigger than Kelly… I think/ hope you get the point.

More Prints; You can never have too much Halo art.

Customizable Figures/ Statues; So this is already sort of a thing. At Comic-Con 2015, the 3-D printing company Sandboxr had a kiosk set up where you could customize your very own Halo 5 Spartan. Here is an example. For those of you who did not know, the customization was actually pretty cool. You could choose your Spartan’s gender (male/female obviously), armor (Mark VI, Recruit, Athlon, and Helioskrill), weapon (Assault Rifle, Battle Rifle, Shotgun, Magnum, Hydra Launcher), pose, and color. The statues came in three different sizes and you could even add your gamertag on the stand. Sandboxr then would 3-D print your figure and mail it to you. It was awesome, I got a blue Athlon with the BR in a cool, dynamic pose. ANYWAY, to get to the point of things, I think that this can be take further. With the limited customization in Halo 5, I think it would be awesome if these options were expanded upon. Imagine if you could choose your Spartan’s helmet, armor, visor, weapon (any weapon), stance, primary AND secondary colors, as well as armor and weapon skin? I think a lot of us would pay a pretty penny for that.
