Call outs are built in the game. Weapon drops are called out with time to drop and marked with a blimp on the map to find. I’ve been a halo fan from the beginning but this is just rediculous. Call outs should be done on the peer level not built in the game and finding power weapons should be unmarked and should be on a hidden timer like halo ce 2, and 3. That’s where skill comes in to play. Being able to keep track of weapon spawn times and the team with the best communication wins. This is just a noob built game all the way. I feel like spider man clinging to walls. Lol. Well I know my 10 year old cousin is going to love this halo. Unbelievable. Halos just keep getting worse and worse.

That’s where Google comes into play.

No, go back to Halo 2 where u belong.
its fine, it helps when you get ignorant players refusing to use their mics + after a couple matches on each map every one knows where weapons spawn anyway so, it really doesnt make much of a difference imo

This. Any one who says otherwise has a vested interest. Is remembering spawn times a skill? yes. Does it take skill to memorize spawn times? No. It is simply repetition/memorization.
People just like it so they can “pwn these noobs” who play casually or for fun. Surprisingly, just like the new horrid mobile pay scheme, most games are made for the majority. Not some small community of “competitive” players who believe they are the apex in everything.

Hahahahaha. This.
You’re talking about communication and timing issues, not issues over skill.
Halo 5 may be terrible, I don’t know, but it’s never going to be as bad as Halo 4 which gave you free Rocket Launchers.
Greenskull said it best. The announcement of power weapon drops changes nothing (paraphrasing), if “n00bs” are going to rush for them… then kill them. That’s skill.
Already saw some pretty good trap strategies in the pre-Beta.

That was my first thought when I heard about the power weapon announcements, Greenskull just leaked my evil plan to trap everyone sprinting for the Sniper. Although I’m sure a lot of us had that idea.

I use the Sniper rifle as a trap to easily kill people
They vastly reduce the biggest noob crutch in compeititve console FPS, aim assist, and people still call it nooby because the announcer tells you when a power weapon is up. lmao you gotta feel sorry for 343 sometimes when they have to put up with this.

Let me give you a different perspective. I’ve served in Iraq and Afghanistan, when there was enemies nearby my fellow soldiers would call them out. If we were under fire we were calling out the direction of where the enemy was so we could return fire. Please don’t act like a fool and say it is unrealistic or whatever.

I believe he means unrealistic being it should be the player who should be doing the callouts and not have to be aided to know when weapons spawn. When this gets into vehicular combat, “Scorpion tank up in 30 seconds.” it’s going to get chaotic. I’d rather have a full party of players who can give me their actual callouts than have the game do it for me.
I agree and disagree with you.
The game needs to be approachable to new players, and those things do that. However, there is still a high skill ceiling in place, especially at the competitive level. I would be willing to bet that the competitive modes won’t have power weapon timer indicators and maybe not even the callouts.
It is a bit nooby. Nobody cannot deny that. It defeats the purpose of learning callouts and timing weapons. But honestly, I love how the game callouts for you. You don’t have to deal with randoms that have no idea what callouts are or people who don’t plug their microphone in. The weapons can be baited effectively now but personally I don’t like how people know exactly when weapons are coming back. But I don’t mind it since it tells you when weapons are returning too. I don’t think it should give you a 30 seconds warning. Maybe like, “sniper up in 10 seconds.” At least reward players for knowing around what time they will come back. If I had a 30 second warning, my team would be positioned right away to get the weapons. Giving 30 seconds of preparation is too much. I hope the competitive playlists have BR starts, no timer and no callouts from ingame.

Which rarely ever happens unless you are in a party. Callouts fix this

I didn’t say it is unrealistic I said “unbelievable”. Although halo is unrealistic given it is an alien based game. I can see your point based solely on the communication aspect.

They vastly reduced aim assist? Not from what I have seen. There is still plenty of it! I’m not saying this is a nooby game just because of the announcer, but because of many factors. I just wish halo would have had a different outcome than this.
People still say noob? Geez
