Fallout just released their xbox one mods for the game and its SO EASY TO USE! You browse all of the mods and find one that catches your eye, you then click on it and read a description and browse screenshots. After this you can favorite, and download the file for your game. File share in Halo 5 should be like this! I hope 343 is taking notes and can add an in game file share to this level. Imagine how connected the community would be with a file share this in depth and easy to use
Cough umm Bethesda has had modding on all there games basically all the way back to morrowind, along with allowing for moderator tools and debuggers, if bungie never took up on that from 14 years ago, I doubt 343 is picking it up now for sorting

I don’t think you understood what he was saying.

Hes talking about how xboxs fallout 4 is allowing mods and the way they are sorting them is easy to use and halo 5 file share should be the same but the whole modding thing with favorites and downloads like this has been around for about 14 years so I doubt 343 is going to pick it up

Im not saying they add in modding to Halo, Im saying their file share (for custom game modes and forge maps) needs to emulate the depth of the modding menu in Fallout 4

I know I said at the end of my post that I doubt they would be picking up the sorting part

I mean they said theyre working on doing more with the file share. Im simply giving feedback and stating that fallout 4 did an exceptional job on something far more complicated so 343 should follow along

But you’re still focusing on the mods part. He’s not asking for mods, he’s asking for a more user friendly file share sort/search interface.

and I agree with you the current fileshare is not easy to use as it could be and the modding is very easy and nice to use, I’m just saying I honestly feel like it won’t be picked up by 343, my main reason being that its been easy to find, use, and save mods for years and it was never like that elsewhere in halo games. The closest thing we have is bookmarks on waypoint

Im not talking about mods being added I’m still talking about the sorting they use
I see what youre saying. Youre saying that they havent done it before so they probably wont start now and I partly agree which is why I made this thread. I really want 343 to see how a file share-esque UI should be handled

Your clearly weren’t around for Halo 3 or Reach.

Yeah I remember in Halo reach I could head over to a website, I think it used to be called forgehub and I could browse files with screenshots and descriptions and categories and it was super easy and I could download them from the computer. It was awesome!

I believe you could even do it in game (to an extent anyway). That’s why people complain about Halo 5’s lackluster fileshare, because it’s nothing compared to what we’ve had in the past.

So easy to use? It doesn’t work for me. I’m glad that for Halo’s file share you don’t have to sign in to some account. It just causes so many problems.

Yeah just make a bethesda account and sign in one time and it wont ask you to sign in again. Couldnt possibly be easier. And you do…you have to use waypoint…

When I log in, nothing happens…
And I forgot about that File Browser, I meant going to the bookmarked items, sorry about that…

Damn, imagine we had mods like make the Halo 5 Cortana actually be Halo4 Cortana by looks.

Oh yeah that happened to me at first too. Make sure you verified your account via email and if you know you did that then its because of the server lag. The mods just went live a day ago and so it has a ton of traffic, in the next day or two it will slow down but bethesda posted a tweet saying that the xbox traffic was 50x greater than the pc traffic. I waited an hour yesterday and tried again and it ran flawlessly
