This is something that’s really been bothering me lately. I honestly don’t understand ANY of the reasoning behind not adding halo 5 as a full pc game. Honestly, I’d have preferred if 343 never added halo 5 to pc in the first place, because as a primarily pc gamer, seeing a company add my favorite game to my favorite gaming platform, and then adding only half of it is infuriating! At this point it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. 343 spent the time and resources to port halo 5 to pc (i.e. adding all the maps, weapons, armors and gamemodes) and then not allowing people to play the game how it’s intended is just plain stupid! Halo 5 is well over a year old now, and Microsoft isn’t making a lot of money or selling consoles because of it anymore, but if they released the game on pc for $60 or even $30, they would be getting way more sales out of it. Couple that with the fact that you need windows 10 to play it, Microsoft would make $150 every time someone bought the game (OS price + Game price) So from a financial standpoint this doesn’t even make sense. Halo Wars 2 was actually pretty well received by the PC community, and pc gamers are definitely interested in playing a real halo fps on their machines. Sorry for the rant, but I needed to get this off my chest, and of course, there’s the miniscule possibility that 343 might see this and care.
Halo is Microsoft’s number one exclusive. Selling it on PC would detract Xbox sales. Also, matchmaking for PC would be atrocious, mouse/keyboard has such an insane advantage over controllers that it would be literally unplayable for console users.
Halo shouldn’t be on PC at all IMO… Halo is pretty much why there is an Xbox to begin with. That being said if Halo ever does go to PC I don’t want to game against PC players from a console. Way to easy to hack and mod from PC and it would never be a level playing field. Online gaming would be ruined IMO.
Why couldn’t PC users play with other PC users?
I see no harm in it.
And I don’t think PC users can play with Xbox users…

People are allowed to play the game how it is intended to be played: as Forge on PC. The entire purpose of porting it over to PC was to give Forgers an opportunity to use Forge on a PC instead of the Xbox.

Oh yeah, cross-compatibility? That’d kill what’s left of the xbox Halo 5 MM community for sure. And I also agree, not a fair playing field as one side can no-scope you just by hovering over your head and clicking, not much skill there. As for the modding, I do believe 343 would crack down on cheaters, and quickly too as Halo 5 is thier only income in terms of FPS games at the moment, and if Halo 5 dies, 343 goes down with the ship. I personally would like to see if H6 becomes an improvement to the franchise rather than a compilation of gimmicks.
Platform wars are silly.
There are reasons that Halo 5 Forge for PC and Halo 5 itself are not cross compatible. Maybe we’ll see that in future titles but I wouldn’t count on it for Halo 5.
