So just throwing this out there, does anyone remember battlefront 2? More specifically the space battles, in which you would fight in space in various star ships and try to destroy the enemy cruiser? Well with the Xbox one now being the focus for halo’s development, why cant that happen on a larger scale? I mean, it hasn’t really been seen since 2005 or so. 343 is trying new things with Halo 5 and this could fit the bill too. My idea was a covenant cruiser uses slip-space and enters a battlefield with a unsc frigate, where you can use an array of vehicles including a Pelican, longsword, broadsword, covenant orbital banshee, seraph, and phantom. The objective is to cripple or destroy the enemy ship (based on a 15 minute time limit). The team that destroys the ship first, or has most parts crippled wins. I imagine that you could (just like in battlefront) spawn off a pelican of phantom if they were docked in the enemy ship. And this is where I get a little too ambitious, but I still think it can be done. Before the game starts, it randomly selects a player to be able to pilot the cruiser. This could allow for some really unique battles and also some ai integration. The person piloting the cruiser could drop drop pods, or the elite drop pods if covenant. The drop pods would have ai odsts or ai elites in them, and could be joined by a player if they choose to jump in a pod. The pods could land on the hull of the enemy ship and the elites/odsts could then try to get in that way. They could also have different ai in the ships, like pilots and marines, grunts and also jackals. 16v16 players with 16 ai on both teams. Its a little ambitious but that would be a very next gen halo experience to me.
Your certainly right in being ambitious but I do like your idea, I remember it in battlefront 2 and it was fun the way you could jump ship to ship get off kill some baddies and hop back on your ship.
personally I would love a halo mmo. Just keep dreaming Ryan just keep dreaming…
Great idea.
I would be really nice.
