In Halo 5 I wanna see Promethean vehicles in campaign. Halo 1-3 was about the Human-Covenant war and it featured big scale battles with the humans and covenant (the two scarabs segment of the campaign). The human-covenant war is over, so the focus of Halo 4-6 should be on the prometheans, not the covenant. I would like to see some large scale battles against the prometheans. Such as going up against war sphinx’s and such. It would be neat to see the promethean equivilant to the warthog, mongoose, scorpion, ect. (as there is a promethean equivilant to the assault rifle, magnum, scattershot, ect).
It also opens up opertunities for multiplayer.
The Mantis is replaced by the Promethean Combat Capsule. Like the Prophet’s Gravity Throne, the Combat Capsule appears as a floating platform upon which the operator sits. Unlike the Gravity Throne, the Combat Capsule’s operator is protected by a hemi-ellipsoidal bubble of hardlight surrounding the top side of the floating platform. The egg shaped hardlight bubble can be temporarily disabled, through damage or an EMP attack, leaving the operator exposed and vulnerable to direct fire. The Combat Capsule can only be boarded once the protective hardlight bubble is disabled but it can be boarded from any direction.
Similar to Covenant hover tech, the Combat Capsule can quickly accelerate in any horizontal direction but its top speed is fairly slow. Unlike Covenant hover tech, the Combat Capsule hovers much higher, at approximately 1.5 Spartan heights off the ground, allowing players and vehicles to pass underneath unhindered. Jump gives the capsule a momentary increase in altitude before coming back down to rest at the standard hover height. Crouch toggles between hovering at the standard hover height or at a low, close to the ground, hover height. Melee attack is disabled while crouching.
Tapping melee causes a miniature Incineration Cannon style projectile to be fired straight down from the underside of the floating platform. The splash damage radius is smaller than Halo 4′s Incineration Cannon but it still disintegrates infantry and destroys vehicles on contact.
The vehicle operator is capable of simultaneously firing both an automatic, non-headshot-capable Sentinel Beam, by holding the left trigger, and a semi-automatic, headshot-capable Particle Beam by tapping the right trigger. The “overheat threshold”, the point at which the weapons overheat, is higher than on standard infantry weapons but both of the Combat Capsule’s weapons, the Sentinel Beam and the Particle Beam, share one battery.
Bahaha, Prometheans don’t need vehicles. The can teleport around at will.
It would look goofy seeing a few Knights riding in some hover hog lol. I already don’t take them seriously…
Closest thing I can see us operating is the War sphinx, which would probably be campaign only.
The only real fighting vehicle we are aware of (to my knowledge, anyway) is the War Sphinx, and that was capable of leveling cities with ease.
But consider this: the Sphinxes mentioned in the Bear novels belonged to the Didacts sons and daughters, all of whom were probably the highest caste Warrior Servants (the Prometheans). Beside that, they were high born, and probably wouldn’t have gone into combat in anything less.
I’m sure there were other, less powerful vehicles out there that the regular rank and file Warrior Servants fought with.
How about forerunner vehicles.
It would be awesome to see some addition vehicles. All the vehicles in the Halo games are awesome, and fun.
My idea for a Promethean vehicle would be something similar to the light cycles from Tron. Hear me out.
Since the Promethean materialize, it would be cool if a Promethean vehicle would materialize. You would hold the “stick” or whatever and when you switch to it and pull the trigger, a vehicle materializes around you. The “stick” can be one of the two weapons you can carry.
It could work kind of like the energy sword does, as you use it it loses energy until it depletes and becomes unusable.
Its a rough idea, but a different one. If they did bring in a different type of vehicle I would want it to work in a unique way. Not just a rehash or variant of other vehicles.
The Z-330 Forerunner Escort always seemed like the closet thing to a Promethean Vehicle to me. But, as others have said, having them use vehicles wouldn’t be pretty redundant since they can teleport at will.
However, I’ve been under the impression that they either require a translocation grid to tap into, or can use slipspace for a short amount of distance. Come to think of it, that’s something that I should consult Catalog about.

Somebody has been reading the books
Promethean vehicles would be cool, but canon wise they don’t need them as mentioned, also any vehicle that could teleport would be seriously overpowered. All known forerunner vehicles that have been mentioned so far even with a small hard light automatic cannon would destroy all UNSC vehicles so far as well as maybe covenant.War sphinx anybody? That would be even worse than a mantis. By canon, forerunner alloy has been mostly undamaged by UNSC weapons, the only exceptions being a nuclear explosions, and infinity’s MAC on the Didacts ship.Don’t think a standard warthog will do much.
This is a Halo,so canon is VERY important. Its what drives the story and is one of the things that defines Halo in comparison to other shooters.
Prometheans can teleport but I would imagine that their vehicles would be closer to weapon carriages or advanced exoskeletons.
I would like to imagine some Promethean vehicles as platforms (like hover boats, I guess?)
Maybe the smallest one would fit three people and glide around the map, and the largest would be a kind of floating scorpion that scoots around…menacingly.
Canonically these platforms would be used as safe zones that the Prometheans could stand on or teleport to, and be transported and lifted safely above the Flood below if needed; along with providing heavy covering fire.
Their weaknesses would be less based on raw damage but more on weak points - they’d be able to soak up rockets but one or two sniper shots on the exposed core would disable them and make them plummet for a few seconds before evaporating.
Taking them out would be less about firepower but more on map placement, and would certainly be worth it.
Then you’d have smaller versions of War Sphinxes which would act like enhanced armor suits, like the Mantis.
