Halo 5 needs more "heavy" armor in MP

What I mean by “heavy armor” is look at the Halo Wars Mark IV. It looks so bulky and I like looking like a “walking tank”. Halo Reach did a good job with bulky armor but Halo 4 really the only had one bulky thing and that was the Ricochet Shoulder Pads. I really hope they have bulky armor and by looking at the MP vidoc you might be able to get Fred’s armor in MP and I’m happy for that.

I’m not sure why people get preoccupied with armor. In Halo, armor literally doesn’t do anything. LITERALLY. You could be standing there naked and have exactly the same protection.

Get shot with a sniper in the head? Well, you’re dead. Punched when your shields are down? Also dead. Punched with your shields up, but from behind? Dead again. Shot in the helment after your shields break? Yep, still dead.

Not to mention getting hit with a sword, stuck with a plasma or bumped by a ghost. Dead, dead, dead.

Guess what? These are EXACTLY the same things that would happen to you if you were an old man standing naked in the wind, rather than a genetically enhanced killing machine wearing futuristic space armor.

Its more about being individual, it is nice to have you own look. Armour customization is one of the best things in Halo, outside of gameplay.

Nothing wrong with more aesthetic options. People want their Spartans to reflect their style.

Are we forgetting that you can shrug off multiple body shots while your shields are down? Because I’m fairly sure a naked old man probably couldn’t…

JEEEEEZ, GAMEPLAY DOESN’T EQUAL CANON!!!

As long as it’s not so big it clips through everything like ricochet or commando (reach), people ask for these things without realizing how hard they are to animate and how bad they look when you’re doing anything other than standing in default stance.

That’s your health, not your armor.

Halo 4 went wrong with the under armor, or bodysuit.

In prior games the bodysuit looked like thick padding, all black in color. It looked like something that could support the heavier, thicker titanium allow outer shell.

In H4, it looks like a futuristic bit of chainmail. Very much like a skinsuit, and not something that fit into a bigger whole. This gave a power ranger feel IMHO.

I agree with this. AESTHETIC options are great

Bulkier armor means less mobility for the spartan in question.

In canon yes, but not as a gameplay aesthetic.

True, also I really did not see walking tank in the Halo Wars design to be honest.

Dude, take a chill pill. I get it, you don’t care about the aesthetic of the armours, that’s fair, you care more about gameplay. But many players do care a lot about the look of their Spartans, since it reflects them and their individuality. It’s like picking your clothes in real life, would you really want to be exactly like everybody else? What if the only options of clothes available to the world was skinny jeans and super baggy sweaters? Many people would be unhappy. The same thing goes for armour options in Halo, people want something that they’ll enjoy using.
