Halo 5 needs more guitar!

ODST style.

EDIT: Now that I mention it, heavier drums and epic piano pieces too plz. I might as well say bring back Marty, but we all know that’s never going to happen. I think the guy should explore things other than Halo anyway. He must be bored to death.

Halo 5 needs more music that sounds like Halo in general. Halo 4’s soundtrack was alright, but it didn’t sound even remotely Halo to me.

Halo 4’s music is Halo. I think the right thing to say is: Halo 5’s music needs to sound the like the original trilogy.

I agree, it was a well done soundtrack but it’s missing something. Imo, I think Neil did a good job of keeping the sound Halo-y, but just not enough I guess.

To be fair, I loved the harsh electronic style he was going for. If he fused that a bit more with the original trilogies style, it would be ideal.

They could have at least did a rendition on the theme song…

343 has the option to get marty now but we might want to forget about it. 343 is doing what they want which sucks I like
the old soundtrack better.Lightning doesn’t strike twice 343 should know this.

Halo Spartan Assault had a lot more Halo-y music than H4.

I want some more saxophone. :stuck_out_tongue:

I wouldn’t mind the guitar and heavier drums, the problem with Halo 4 is just how the two composers have very obviously different styles.

Make it space black metal and I’m the only one who will love it.

I would love to see the return of guitar and piano in Halo 5.

Halo needs the monk choir and the heavy drums along with the piano. The piano is iconic for the fast pace music, the monk choir is for the feeling of awe and amazement, and finally the drums is for the climatic moments in Halo.

Hiring someone who just sued their previous employer isn’t that great of an idea. We also don’t know why Marty was fired.

Halo 4’s music was great, it fit the kind of cinematic story Halo 4 was going for. The music has to fit the game.
That said, I would like better implementation. Halo 3’s music is extremely memorable for me especially because of how it was implemented. It really complemented the situation, whether it was a cutscene or gameplay.

Halo 4’s was either in the wrong spot, too soft, or strangely loud and unfitting. If they hit that balance like the original trilogy, it will really help.

Halo 4’s music wasn’t bad, it was just implemented poorly in the game. They could hire Marty, but if the music is too quiet or ill-placed as you are playing, you’ll just assume it sucks.

All it needs is better implementation into gameplay and more Kazuma.

It’s getting more Kazuma. That’s good.

The last level in halo 4 is when the music shined, that and when you first see the pillars, but beyond that it wasn’t implemented well. The music itself was good, but the original trilogy’s music is better in my opinion as it is less cinematic. Getting tom salta would be the best thing 343 could PRACTICALLY do.

I loved Halo 4’s soundtrack personally, although I did prefer Kazuma’s music over Neil’s. Hopefully Kazuma is the main composer for Halo 5.

Agreed, it might work for Halo 5 seeing that we’re back in Earth.

I think it’ll probably stay mostly orchestral, but I could see a some slick guitar riffs here & there, not too many though. Halo 2 was overkill. Reach had a good balance.

It needs more cowbell.
