While I really like Halo 4, the one main thing that it was missing was humor. Going back and playing Halo 3 reminds me how the marines and grunts cracked me up with the stupid things they would say, While Halo 4 looked awesome and the Promethean’s were cool (but maybe a little too robotic), but the game was devoid of humor which is one important factor to campaign replay-ability.

Chief just lost one of the most important people in his life. Creating a humorous mood in the direct campaign is only going to block players from relating to Chief’s mood and the mood of the game which is going to be dark this time around.
Maybe in something like SpOps/Firefight/something else, there can be more humorous stuff.
Even serious stories need comic moments and periods of lightheartedness. No one is going to want to play a game about some lonely ex-soldier who is really bummed out because his computer (virtual friend) broke down and now he has to travel around to lots of places to get it fixed.

I would. And I’m willing to bet ABEL up there too. Fairly sure others will as well.
This story needs humor in some form. Chief can be all moody I guess, but we need someone like Johnson, marines, grunts, and etc to make us laugh once in a while.

We can laugh at the likely continued incompetence of Spartan Palmer.

Lol
Op I think it shouldnt have as much humor revolving around chief (at least outside of easter eggs) and the hunor should be with the grunts and brutes at the most.

Yeah, but I’m willing to bet that Brian Reed is probably not intending for us to laugh at his precious pet mary-sue.
I would like to see a return of some humor to the games, myself. The Chief himself doesn’t have to be the source of humor, nor does the game have to be predominantly hijinks focused,whacked-out comedy ala Bad Company 1 or the like, but I do miss the days of the Marines actually dropping humorous lines like “Notify next of kin, 'cause they’re next!” or “I need a nurse! No, no, a female nurse!” or “Oh that’s going to take forever to buff out!” (after splattering a Covenant). That sort of boistrous comradrie style humor that would crop up from time to time. The kind of “shooting the crap” type jargon one could expect soldiers to spout in an attempt to take the edge off or the like. You can have that and still have serious story and gameplay (look no further than Halo CE, which goes from that humor to that one marine in the middle of a breakdown on The Flood, or Halo 2, which has Johnson’s famous “Dear Humanity” speech, even as you’re charging into a Covenant occupied city where tens of thousands have already probably been killed). It would be a nice return to some of the old school stuff, as opposed to the “No Jokes Ever!™” mentality that’s been going on since Reach.
