Personally, I despised Reach’s armor, it looked way too blocky and square. I like the smoother and sleeker armor by comparison in Halo 4 but my only gripe is that it was way too clean and shiny. I would like future armor to have a more weathered look to them. Not to mention, Halo 4 has a much wider variety in armor choices but the only problem is that most are way too easy to obtain.
I like the way the customization is set up in Halo 4. You could pretty much change the entire armor set except for the mesh layer underneath the metal components.
We just need more options for it.
Like making arms and legs part of full sets like having Venator arms and legs and Warrior arms and legs that’d be nice instead of these completely random arms and legs we have now with the exception of Recruit, Mk VI and Fotus.
Then bring new sets in and maybe some old favorites like CQB, ODST and Mk V. With the options for arms and legs you could end up looking very similar to the CE Mk V.
Then of course bring back armor effects and things like Kats arm and build on them.
And most of all ELITES!
Hopefully all of this is possible with the X1’s new tech.
i agree that the armor needs an update. however i agree with bubble on reach armor, technically eveyone had the same chest we just had different attachments on that chest piece. i would like a combination of halo 3-4 armor in halo 5, the new system should be able to handle it. also to me i would like a return of the, spartan diaper, because in halo 4’s armor design it didn’t feel as big or bulky as it should have been. also i didn’t really like that mesh look they had in halo 4. halo 3 or reach looked more like a full body suit. above all else 343 please bring back the elite armor and use both halo 3 and reach elite designs.
I liked the armours in both. I liked some of the newer high tech stuff and some of the older “I just ripped this off a tank” Reach stuff. Give us a bit of both I say. They should do a poll to see which Halo 4 armours people want to keep, that way nothing popular gets taken off. Also there should be a slider that changes the weathering effects, maybe even specific for each armour piece?
TBH, i like Halo 4’s armor b/c at least its not too big like the armor in Halo Reach, where the armor is “bulky” and looks uncomfortable.
Halo 4 had the ugliest character designs I’ve ever seen in a video game.
And even that would have been slightly more tolerable if they didn’t make the undersuit the same colour as the armour pieces. Or even just a darker shade of the same colour, or something. They gave us thousands of options that all just sort of blurred together, so everyone ended up looking the same. It was impossible to tell from a glance where the torso piece ended and the shoulders began, because it was all red or blue mush.
I like the simplicity of Halo 3’s permutations the best out of the series. Reach’s armour could’ve been better, I’ll admit. Not a lot of variety, and they went pretty overkill on the details. But you could get a readable, identifiable personality from different armour setups. There’s nothing even remotely iconic in Halo 4’s Monsterpiece Theatre.
We nee A LOT of new better looking armor.
I like mean and intimidating armor

I think Halo 4 armor is good but Reach’s was alot better.
I want GUNGNIR and ODST to return!
> Most of Halo 4’s armour looked like cosplayers dressed as power rangers instead of efficient pieces of military hardware.
You forgot the fairly blatant attempt to rip off Crysis’s nanosuit with the way the “mesh” portion of the armor is designed.
Yea armor needs to be a bit better it needs to be elegant yet defined and ruggish like the classic Gundam designs most importantly they need to keep the usual looks of a spartan and of course look Bad -Yoink-. IDK just make it look like Halo work off from what the armors looked like in the past.
I liked it better in Reach. Halo 4’s armor designs weren’t very good imo and looked too clean. Also the under suit should’ve stayed black instead of matching the color of your armor, it provided good contrast in the other games.
