The community is extremely divided on the topic of different starting weapons, so I think making a separate 4v4 Slayer playlist for each variant would be a great idea; one playlist for AR starts and one playlist for BR starts.
The game plays so differently with BR starts than it does with AR starts, so I think that separating the two game variants would be a logical solution that can make everybody happy.
Also no radar… Radar is for noobs.
You are right, the game does play very differently depending on the starting weapon. that’s why it should NOT be separated…
Achieving top ranks should mean that you’ve mastered both styles of play… AR starts mean you really have to consider the other weapons on the map, and know how to use each weapon situationally and control their spawns. BR turns it into more about whose the best shot. You shouldn’t be able to progress through the rankings without winning in both scenarios.
I don’t wanna know who the best BR start player is. I wanna know who the best player is period.

Getting spawn killed in BR starts is not my kind of thing. I want no part in it.
And this is coming from a BR starts fan in Halo’s 2-4.
Agreed. AR/Radar and BR/No radar. Just call them Slayer and Slayer Pro or whatever.

Na cuz I don’t give a -Yoink- about mastering BRs.

Agreed we need this. I’m not interested in 95% of my games being everyone has a br bs. Guns a power weapon; not a starter. I love the br, but i strongly disagree with starts.

Exactly this.

Exactly why it’s important that each player gets to choose what he or she wants to play.

Because Halo 5’s dynamics don’t seem to suit the BR starts style of gameplay, the game can get boring after a while.
making dozens of different playlist will only splinter the community further causing low playlist numbers and low server numbers resulting in long wait times for games and laggy games
BR/AR starts for all playlists
THIS (ideally) makes everyone happy because…hey…you can have either one you want right off spawn problem solved
Want to spawn with an AR? swap weapons right off spawn and voila…you got an AR
want to have a BR off spawn…voia…you got a BR

That’s the thing. It’s not about having the weapon you like at start, it’s about the way the game plays because of the weapons you start with. When it’s BR starts, everybody camps and spawn kills. When it’s AR starts, everyone moves around the map and the game becomes exciting.
They don’t need to make dozens of playlists, they can just make two separate 4v4 Slayer playlists: one with BR starts and one with AR starts.
HCS should be BR starts but Team Slayer should be AR starts IMO. Matchmaking with randoms doesn’t work with BR starts in its current form and yields uncompetitive games which are not fun at all.

I agree 100%.

I see your point about wanting to know the best player overall, but they do have playlist ranks. Now if you wanted you could check each individual rank to get a feel on how the player plays. kind of like looking at a player & seeing the P1 plays SWAT & Team Snipers extensively, but no Slayer or Objective games. P2 on the other hand could play BTB & Objective games
Maybe what your looking for is an overall rank/% that encompass all the game types. or just what they have played so it more detailed.

I completely forgot about that. The service record shows the player’s rank in every playlist. I guess that’s how you know “who the best player is period”.
Now we can have our separate playlists.
the main reason I came here was to agree with you on seperate playlists, but mostlikely they will be just different game types that are voted on like H4 & MCC because it would break up the Slayer community.

Actually from my experience its the opposite
When I have an AR I don’t taverse the map,. I tend to stay in a confined area or at least areas because I don’t want to run opening and get cross mapped with no way to fight back from mid-long range
If I have a BR I hunt players down, I engage and fight I move to control power weapons and choke points
AR starts are usually determined in the first minutes of a game when one team grabs BRs and the other team doesn’t, automatically giving the team smart enough to grab BRs an immediate advantage
Along with giving us the option to switch off Spartan chatter? among other things
