So CoD always has a rock or rap ad and Destiny has rock ones as well so where is Halo 5’s rock ad.
Also the HMCC’s rock ad was only OK so Halo 5 needs to crank it up to 11.

No thanks. I love that Halo has always had original music featured in its ads. The moody sense of foreboding has been a staple of the ad campaigns for Halo and it’s one of my favorite things about it.
I hear what your saying, but this game isn’t Destiny or COD, it’s much better. I’m not sure if a rock ad would do it justice before release, and definitely not a rap ad. I could see that type of ad airing when the game releases. Otherwise I think these live action style ads work very well, as long as they are aired, not to mention the other types of advertisement being used. But that’s just an opinion.
On another note, I know a rock ad would be awesome and could be well done; but they’d definitely have to go old school rock. I’m not against the idea. However; I’m all for getting the game out to as many people as possible.

I don’t disagree with your point and since there are a few traditional ads already couldn’t one rocking ad just for extra hype be good for those whom are swayed by such means.

I wouldn’t approve honestly. Halo just isn’t that type of game. I could maybe see it working for a multiplayer ad but even then, the OSTs would just be so much more appropriate and can be just as intense. If people aren’t swayed by what they see in the already amazing ads then that’s just too bad. I would lament the reputation that Halo’s ads have to be compromised in such a way.

I don’t disagree with your idea, reach out to as many as you can, and I’m all about the fan base growing. Again I just think that type of ad would work best upon release.
I’ll pass on the rock ads.
Halo is Master Chief and the original soundtrack along with it.
For me just wouldn’t really fit, thematically. Maybe it just rubs me in an anachronistic way, like that Breaking Benjamin song in the original Halo 2. Always thought that stuck out like a sore thumb with regards to the rest of the soundtrack.
Unless we’re talking about ‘Rock Anthem for Saving the World’ (and the like), now…if it’s original and fits the flavour of the universe, then count me in. Loved the updated guitar riffs in H2:A.
It would depend on the song, but I always found it hard to take ads like that seriously. Like that one live action Destiny ad for The Taken King expansion. Great song, but I still found myself laughing at how out of place Led Zeppelin felt in a commercial where three dudes were about to duke it out with a god. And since Halo 5 looks like its going to be darker than Destiny ever will, I think the original soundtrack would do just fine. But if they did decide to make a Rock ad it would have to be pretty heavy and sad. Im talking One by Metallica sad.

That was awful. I was so glad they removed it from the anniversary edition.
Halo 5 needs a Martin O’Donnell ad.
Destiny and CoD use those kinds of ads because they focus on selling to a less serious gaming crowd, which sadly makes up a vast majority of the gaming community, one of the reasons why those games are so popular. This kind of ad doesn’t belong in Halo, its a serious game for serious gamer, not a joke like those other two.

You took it too far with the “Halo is a serious game for serious gamers” bit.

Have to agree. That was so not fitting but it did introduce me to Breaking Benjamin which is nice.
Well, they could take the track that is playing in the Pelican landing in the jungle/swamp with Johnson and his men from Halo: CE when some random Soldier says something like, “What is this old Music?”. That is not what he is saying but it’s Close.

To each his own.
Rock anthem for Saving the World would make a great theme for a launch advert, to introduce what Halo is all about to newcomers, or those on the fence to an epic Sci-fi action packed series
If they ever did this I would love if Breaking Benjamin did it since the band is back and it would be a throw back to Halo 2 when they had Blow Me Away play in the campaign
Get Steve Vai in to do a Halo commercial and you get my vote
^^ this!!
