So there has been a poll recently that shows that most people want sprint in halo 6, but a good chunk of the community wants one without sprint, (im fine with both). That tells me what we need is some classic gameplay playlists, To appease the veterans. To fix the map gameplay problems 343 can just pluck community forge remake maps for the playlists. The playlists would deactivate all Spartan abilities and ADS to ensure the classic halo goodness.
- Classic Slayer /Team Slayer - Classic CTF - Classic InfectionRevolving Playlists duration 1 week
So you concede that most people prefer something with sprint then proceed to say there should four playlists that are no different than their peers aside from having sprint?
Donât hold your breath.
I doubt that not wanting sprint = wanting a classic playlist, in fact I heard that they had classics in other games and they were the least played game

one third is a lot of people bro, Plus I meant the playlist would revolve in between each one

Itâs not just sprint you know. Class playlists can have all Spartan abilities disabled and modify base walk speed to match the gameplay from the classic Halo games. There are already gamemodes like this, and there are classic maps remade as well with Forge. Why not make this playlist? Itâll suit those of us who prefer the original gameplay of Halo.

And donât forget the increase jump height to account for the maps being designed to force you to clamber constantly.

This has always been the case with âclassic playlistsâ. Thereâs always someone clamoring for them, then when they fail the excuses roll out. For example:
-
âIt failed because the game was designed for these broken abilities, so the gametype just doesnât work as well.â
-
âIt failed because everyone already left that wanted it.â
Truthfully, they fail because the appeal is so limited and arbitrarily parceling portions of your game off to create something that behaves inherently different from your original design is just a silly choice. So, I guess the excuses arenât that far off. Itâs just silly to think they can succeed in the first place.

Honestly, the second excuse is plausible. If older fans did not like Halo 5âs direction, then why would they bother staying. I, for one, like Halo 5âs gameplay, but it would be nice to try out a classic playlist and see how it goes. Itâs the only way for me to play those classic remakes with other people. It doesnât hurt to make it a weekend playlist.

Like I said, it may be a valid explanation, but why anyone would try to appeal to that group in the first place is silliness and shows the flaw in wanting a playlist like that.

So if #2 is true, classic playlists are a bad idea. If it is false, classic playlists are a bad idea. Right?

So what youâre saying is⌠It should have been there at launch like everything elseđ
Oh man, halo 5 gameplay wise is great but it needs sooooo much more that I have kind of given up on hoping for things.
Problem with that poll is that there is no way of knowing how many voted, and, a bigger issue (as seen with the 8 million fewer sales from Halo 3 to Halo 5), a lot of the legacy population have left the franchise, for various reasons. And the poll is not an official poll, itâs a straw poll. So, it doesnât count for anything in the long run. Iâll just let the lack of sales speak for themselves.

well thatâs a matter of opinion
I made a post with good classic maps and game types that could be used for such a playlist yesterday, check it out.
I donât think that it is possible to âdeactivateâ Smart-Scope. Youâd just have to live with it, and try to put mostly classic weapons on the maps.

Smart-scope doesnât even affect anything. Apart from SMG spread I believe.
I would take a classic playlist with remastered maps, I think that would be awesome.
