I just want Halo 5’s UI to be snappy and intuitive. The main menu in 4 was fine, but once you lobby up, the “Game info on top, Players on bottom” setup was kind of jarring to use, and it was hella slow at loading the player info.
With MCC, I don’t like how it has absolutely everything running from left to right with a tab system. It’s fine for picking what Halo you want, but it’s troublesome for the rest of the UI. Biggest issue for me is that it forces you to scroll through all tabs before playing, and does so rather slowly. It also adopted Halo 2’s controls, so you have to press X to view players and friends, and it separates lobbies after every match.
Thus far, Reach and it’s “Active Roster” system has been the best for me. Every action in the menu was instantaneous, from setting up gametypes to viewing a 3D Spartan, it happens at the press of a button with no load times and no animation delays.
From what I’ve seen thus far (which isn’t much), 5’s UI is looking more like a combination of 4 and MCC, but I don’t really care as long as it’s more intuitive than both.
TL;DR: Halo 5’s menus need to be like Reach’s; Be fast and make sense.

The menus for Halo 5 look sweet. From what I’ve seen I think I’ll like them. Halo MCC had confusing menus but then again, it’s probably the most massive game on consoles ever. There’s so much content on it it was bound to be confusing to navigate.
The UI in Halo 4 was a bit cumbersome to say the least, the tabs and all the different menus you needed to navigate through to find progression, metals, weapon customization, and everything could have been executed differently and more efficiently. From what I have seen this is no longer the case. Everything is clear cut, organised and super simple for a person who has never played Halo or a game regarding custom items, to navigate and find what they need with very little effort.
