Halo 5 Music

Halo 5 needs Music like Halo 3 and Halo 2 had.

God no, Halo 2’s soundtrack was ruined by the metal, the only good songs in Halo 3 were remixes from CE and 2

Then the Reclaimer saga needs it’s own identity when it comes to music

As much as I liked Halo 4’s soundtrack, and as much as I love techno/electronic music, I would like to see the return of original trilogy like pieces, but that doesn’t mean completely abandon the tone that Halo 4 set. Their in-house composer, Kazuma, knows how to make music. I’ve been listening to Volume 2 of the Halo 4 OST, and so far, most of the tracks with only Kazuma’s name on them have been freaking spectacular.

I loved Halo 2’s OST because of the emotion that was behind quite a few of the tracks, so bringing that emotional tone over to Halo Xbox One would greatly benefit it since, if it is what originally was going to be Halo 5, it is supposed to be the darkest of what was the Reclaimer Trilogy.

With Halo 5’s OST, I want to see less Neil, and more Kazuma.

Not only does Kazuma have the advantage of being a 343i employee whereas Neil does most of his work in England, but I personally believe that Kazuma Jinnouchi is a MUCH better Composer than Neil Davidge.

I’ll take Neil’s best song, Arrival, and then I’ll take 117… When I listen to both of them, 117 instantly takes the cake of awesomeness.

Also, I think it’s about time that 343i get’s a new Audio Director, because Sotaro Tojima was HORRIBLE at successfully implementing Halo 4’s soundtrack into the game. At best, you could maybe hear portions of each song, and it really ruined the songs that Neil and Kazuma composed so well.

No metal, but yes I would love Halo 2 styled music! Example!

No it shouldn’t, if it does then it will just be halo 2 and 3 again, I want Halo 5.

One of the best things Halo 4 did, IMO, was implementing a bit of Marty’s music here and there. I want that, except maybe 50/50 Marty/Neil.

halo 4’s soundtrack was not good. Did not feel like halo

needs halo 1,2,3 style

It’s not “metal”. And it definitely wasn’t ruined by it.

And what is Halo supposed to feel like?

halo 2 or 3 mostly. Everything else was bad because population online proves it.

and for soundtrack, when u consider playing the master chief with that ost, yeah thats what makes a halo game for me, not a odst, reach or halo 4 soundtrack

Totally not metal, and yeah, it ruined it

Halo’s original soundtrack is what made halo, well halo. I want to see something creative and new, but it still needs to sound like halo. Removing classic songs and style is like removing the needler from the game. Again, i do want to see something new, with the classic instruments, monk chant, piano and maybe electric guitar because that is halo. Halo was original and distinct, but now it is starting to blend in with other games. 343 my advice to you is to make halo soundtrack, new but halo.

Oh yeah, because multiplayer population determines how good a game is, I mean Halo CE and ODST are just awful games aren’t they?

I didn’t like Halo 3’s soundtrack, it’s way too heroic and has zero emotion to it, it doesn’t represent the characters well at all, now Halo 4 songs like Revival, Green and Blue, 117, Solace, Requiem, Haven, Lasky’s theme, etc. have as previously listed

I was watching a vidoc of Destiny the other day and the music it was set to was very evocative of all those moments in the first game that held a sense of wonder and excitement.

I can’t speak to the Halo 4 soundtrack as a whole since I don’t own it, but the in game music didn’t pull me into the world, effectively set a mood, or heighten the stakes. Just my experience. I do wish we could get Marty back, but maybe they can just mix a little more of his style into the next one.

I loved Halo 4’s soundtrack. It was a fresh sound, but still evoked the same feels I got with other games. Walking through that Forerunner hallway towards the elevator - at the end of the second level - whilst ‘Haven’ played was incredible. As was the first time you entered a Forerunner building and heard ‘Legacy’ - oh, and as you follow the Sentinels guiding you to the Librarian, too.

‘Wreckage’ playing at the crash site was also evocative, and fit the mood of the scene perfectly. And ‘Aliens’ playing as you pushed your way through the third level to shut down the pylons was also really cool. That level felt very ethereal, with the purple hue, bright lights coming from structures, and the skybox; and that song suited perfectly.

I’m mostly mentioning the more haunting tracks, but it has some great music that gets you pumped, too, such as ‘Belly of the Beast’ and ‘Arrival’ - the latter especially, specifically when the violins start in the latter half of the track.

Mixing the talents of Salta, Davidge, and Jinnouchi would create something special.

Whatever happens, ‘117’ needs to remain and become one of the flagship themes for 343’s Halo games. It’s the most badass track to come out of the series, for me.

EDIT: They also need to bring back the iconic main monk/Gregorian chant. They really shouldn’t have had it only feature in the Composer level; though it was cool to hear it there when I didn’t expect to hear it at all.

I want to see some classics return (primarily the Halo theme) and I won’t want them to be shoved into the credits. The tracks that do return should be remixed to fit into the rest of the OST. I am not asking for a copy-paste, I’m asking for a track list that is mostly new stuff (three quarters, even) but I would like the old classics that in many ways defined Halo in the time of the trilogy to still have a place in it.

Having the more recognisable themes mixed seamlessly into some of the new tracks would be cool. Kinda like with ‘117’, and ‘Attonement’.

If anything the need the Original Halo theme song. It’s iconic and is great.

ummm…

well at the time this genre of music was popular 2000-2006 and know its all wubwubwub and Halo 4 did have wubwubwub (did not like) but didnt ruin the game ,what actually ruind the game in terms of soundtrack is that the ost wasn’t “iconic” it was nice but not halo more like han zimmer’s work imo
