Halo 5 Multiplayer

It was rough at first, having no knowledge of where anything was (power weapons, special abilities, etc.). My learning curve was a minus-350 K/D ratio in the first month Halo 5 came out. Now that I’ve learned the maps somewhat, I’ve been slowly bring back my k/d into the positive. I’m still in minus territory (about 230), but most of my games are positive. Eventually, I’ll end up with a huge positive k/d ratio like I did in MCC Halo 4 multiplayer. I was actually minus-700 when I stopped playing H4 multiplayer on the Xbox 360 (minus-1200 when I first started and played in the first 2 years due to an unstable, laggy cablemodem that was slow as heck). I didn’t know any of the maps since it was the first time I ever signed onto LIVE. The cheaters made it not fun on that platform, and then the Xbox One came out, and rumor had it that you couldn’t cheat on it. So, I got one, and the Master Chief Collection was released with all 4 Halo campaigns (5 if you include H3: ODST and I’m still waiting for REACH). Although, I have to say that sometimes it does feel like one person is cheating, esp. when he’s dominating the entire game with 20 - 30 kills and single-digit deaths. Even though I played the H5 Beta when it came out, I had to relearn all the maps, but I got better and I started getting more and more kills that put me in the positive. I like that the pace of the games are pretty stable across every game and I like that we all start out with equal weapons and abilities. I’ve seen a few people lag and bounce all over the screen, but that is now so few and far between that it’s a non-issue. Recently, my internet connection was upgraded to FiOS and it has made a world of difference in my gaming. Give me a few weeks and I’ll be in the positive k/d territory once again.

I completed the H5 campaign on both Normal and Heroic, and am waiting to do it on Legendary with my fireteam, if they ever get the urge to do it. Found all the skulls but one (where you have to do it on Legendary in order to get it to spawn), and I’ll eventually get all the intel when I have more time to play.

So, I’d just like to give two thumbs up to 343 for making Halo multiplayer fun again.

Agreed.
It took me a while to learn the spawns to. Sometimes I’m still like “oh i didnt know there was a shotgun on this map!”

Running around with some friends in a custom game is a great way to figure out the maps. Look for jumps, sight lines, weapons, etc. It’s really helpful
