Halo 5 multiplayer should resemble halo 4

hello 343 i just wanted to add in there dont know if its too late or not but i loved halo 4! I truly thought the 343 team did an amazing job with that chapter in the series and nailed it for us halo fans me personally. I really think same should following halo five keep customizable load-outs and armor abilities and weapon skins!! They are truly fun in my opinion and is allowing halo multiplayer to evolve to new heights!! I know most of everyone true to the original game and halo 2 would say its not halo but i would disagree. 343 has did and amazing job bringing mcc to the xbox one and the battle rifle back and smg along with duel wielded weapons. Why not keep the same style of play in halo 5 and add more onto it making it superb from the rest. I loved halo 4s ranking system only problem was the cap was too low and kept me begging for one last update to bring my level up maybe to 500 or 1000 SR allowing for skin unlocks armor abilities to follow along side my weapon specific armor unlocks would have felt very genuine and original. For you older halo fans playlists like classic and pro slayer would eliminate those trying to not play with load-outs and really utilize on your style of play. The ability to sprint with the joystick was also amazing in my opinion had people flying around the map super fun!! I think it could be possible to put a taste of what everyone likes in halo 5 as far as ranking is concerned, just add a ranked playlist like in reach for competitive style 1 /50 Players and have a Ranking system like halo 4 for the more casual player it would make halo 5 an extremely desirable game for everyone. Well i just had to to try i love all halo games and i believe 343 will do an amazing job on halo 5 what do you say guys lets evolve halo and keep halo 5 the best and most competitive multiplayer ever created!!

you loved the halo 4 ranking system? what a noob… whats the point of credit based rank? it doesn’t reflect how good you are it just reflects how much you played. unless its a true skill based rank its really pointless to have IMO. I though the ranking since reach and especially in halo 4 was truly pointless. but yes I did like some of the changes halo 4 introduced. the halo 5 beta played really well IMO. if they could just have the same skill based ranking and match making that halo 2 and 3 used they would have a perfect halo again.

Just an FYI the in game SR (spartan rank) system wasn’t halo 4s “ranking” system, CSR (competitive skill rank) which was only view-able on waypoint was.

Also Halo 5 does have the SR system just like halo 4 so you don’t need to worry about that if you want it.

Well thats a relief and good to know so i wonder if there will be a ranked style 1/50 playlist in H5

Halo 4 failed on every front except its campaign and story. I don’t understand how you can think customizable loadouts, Halo 4’s ranking system and armour abilities are still viable after the disaster that was Halo 4’s multiplayer. Halo 4’s sporadic and uneven gameplay contributed to its demise and low player counts. Although Halo 5 is far from perfect, it better captures what Halo PvP is about than Halo 4 and Halo: Reach: even starts, map control and a balanced sandbox. You’re in the vast minority. Not even Call of Duty and average FPS fans stuck around for Halo 4, as there’s no point in playing a CoD-like Halo when they can just play CoD.

Do you want to see the franchise suffer like Halo 4 did? Halo 5 is definitely a step in the right direction. Although there is more that can be done.

I clearly understand your point of view and am not trying to say halo 5 in any way should ruin halo but please a wide spectrum of fans competitive or not. I enjoyed halo 4 and personally thought it was a good step for the franchise.

I’d rather Halo 5 was nothing like Halo 4, it was probably the worst Halo game, if there going to make Halo fun again then Halo 5 need’s to be more like Halo 2/3

I completely disagree. Halo 4 is the farthest the franchise has been to having that real halo feel.

I loved Halo 4’s multiplayer honestly, I never saw what was so bad about it.

Personally, it was way better than Reach’s multiplayer by a long shot. I haven’t been on Reach in a long time now, with Halo 4’s MP.

Personally though Halo CE to 3’s MP will always be my favorite…

Halo 4 multiplayer was fun for a few months. I’m glad it only happened once.

This^
I hated losing off spawn, I hated the random.
H4 felt like i was always playing fiesta and not to mention the terrible maps. Haven and adrift were literally the only maps that worked with 4 v 4. The rest were basically king of the hill on all modes, settler and coplex tied for being being the worst offenders.

I’m glad 343 is going away from that.

Got rid of the random but they kept the sh*tty maps

And here it comes full circle, the old fans saying Halo 5 needs to be more like Halo 2 and Halo 3. Don’t get me wrong, I liked Halo 3, but I don’t want more of the same for the next game release. I would play Call of Duty or Battlefield if I wanted the same old gameplay as their predecessors.

Really Because the maps in the beta were great with the exception of Orion maybe

Or they can just lie around MCC.

My opinions on h4 the good.
Although halo 4 was implementing a lot of modern styled game play with loadouts, perks, armor abilities, and ordnance drops.

To 343s credit they did a great job with all of the different abilities and weapons being balanced with each other.

Ordnance was better than kill streaks, because it was done with points instead of kill streaks that cause many people to camp. You also could get your ordnance stolen, or be killed and lose your power weapon.

Op Armor abilities got nerfed or a counter ability, instead of armor lock we got a shield, the jet pack had a huge nerf since reach, and you can use promeathean vision against active camo.

Most Perks had such a small change you couldn’t really tell the difference, but many people still enjoyed the it, knowing it did some kind of change.

Custom loadouts were pretty balanced and it was cool that you can customize for your own
Style. And it was fun to have the ability to change up your style to counter the other players styles, to get the upper hand.

The bad
H4s style of customizable loadouts, perks, and kill streaks is very different for halo. In Halo you always had equal starts, and you had a equal chance to fight for map control and power weapons.

While halo 4 didn’t have that same flow, you can spawn with plasma pistols an grenades, boltshot random abilities, weopons, random perks. And yes we had some power weapons on the map, but they were less important, since everyone can just drop one in front of them.

What I liked
I loved many game types Dominion, Huskey raid, Recochet, ninja assassins, hive mind, rock and rail, clang of the hill, team doubles.

I enjoyed the faster gameplay.

And I would probably pick H4s weapon balancing compared to classic halos. And I’m glad they moved that to halo 5, I can’t imagine playing halo five with everyone only ever using the br.

Things I hated
Noobs that hide as a team with camo, boltshot and sticky grenades, and win. Botshot, plasma pistol and plasma grenade starts, weak vehicles, active camo. They were my most hated the most about the multiplayer, but not everything I disagreed with. Like mediocre maps etc.

If anything 343 should have only have a playlist or two with infinity settings. But for sure it should not have replaced, the classic arena style multiplayer.

Halo 4 had many problem’s, but I will admit I still played the heck out of it just like every other halo, and the things I talked about are more looking at the way each game style is and judging what I liked and disliked from those style’s rather than looking at all the ways h4 want wrong. But instead tried to judge how they played as what they were. I have no doubt that Halo 4 went in the wrong direction, and has many more problem’s.

My opinions on halo two after haven’t been able to play it much online yet: if it were knew today, I would complain about all the grenade spamming, the dominant br,and the spawn kills on small maps.
These are just my options, remember everyone is different. Thanks

im 90% sure the op is trolling but imo everything about halo 4 was inferior to H3/reach, and the reason was the cod-ification in mm. also how someone at 343 can look at sp-ops and think it was a good idea…nothing but a failed money grab. campaign you can make a valid argument for being good i suppose but imo it has nothing on H3 with more open spaces and epic scarab battles.

I liked 4/Reach more then 3 but 2 is still the best. 3 problem is that it is to slow. Even at 10 sensitivity I never felt like my guy could keep up with what I wanted him to do. I don’t want 5 to be like anyone of those but take the best thing from each game and work them together. I like we’re halo 5 is going. Had ton of fun playing the beta. As for ranking it need to be redone. 4 and Reach are the worse at it. Still 2 and 3 are not great either. I played with many of top player in those game according to their rank and many were not great player. To easy to be carried in those game to the top ranks.
