While the maps were pretty good in the Halo 5 beta they still felt a bit too big. The best maps in Halo history are for the most part small tight maps with lots of close quarter action with only a few longer sidelines. I would like to suggest 343 to reduce the size of the maps to make them more close quarters and tighter. I always loved the tight close quarter action in Halo and it should definitely return in Halo 5. The map Truth for example was a very tight and close quarters map in Halo 2 but in Halo 5 it felt like a big map and I even ran into some time limits! This never happened on Halo 2! (ofcourse it could happen but it’s just to make a point).
Another thing 343 should take a look at is the map clutter especially on the maps Empire and Eden. Why are there so many entry points to certain areas or why are there so many routes? This will only reduce the mapflow and make the game slower paced so please fix the mapclutter.
One last thing I would like to say about the maps in general is that there should be more colors to mark certain areas. I’m not talking about lights but actual colors on the maps. Get rid of the exaggerated chrome/shine effects on objects and add some distinctive details and colors to them so they will feel and look more unique and alive. This is major concern I currently have for Halo 5.
