When it comes to the armor sets that are from the campaign characters, why couldn’t 343 make them look just like they did in the campaign? 2 that I see are both Spartan Locke and Vale’s armor set. They have different patterns on their armor and look a little beefed up when in multiplayer. Not saying they look bad or anything. I enjoy them but I was hoping they would’ve kept the design relatively the same. On Locke’s armor, you don’t get that blue lighting design that you see during the campaign. I’ve had my Locke armor since launch cause of the pre order bonus from Gamestop. I rock it every now and then because it’s a badass looking armor. Halo Reach kept the design the same in both campaign and multiplayer mainly because you create your own spartan. Let me know your thoughts. Again, I enjoy the armor sets in multiplayer even if they have weird pattern designs on them.
i think it would be cool if thy added patterns like the paterns u got on h3

Or you could add your own patterns, like a paint shop for the armor.
The difference in the Osiris Campaign armor to the Multiplayer variants is mainly in the different undersuits used by the members of Osiris.

I’m all down for us to create own armour skins instead of them bloating the REQ system with pointless armour skin variants.

I do not like either honestly. But if I had to choose, I would choose the create your own skins.
Maybe 343i forgot to add in the armor effects, or maybe they did it intentionally. Either way, they still look great!
ya but itee be cool to add a little of our own customization

Also it’s because they’re Spartan-IVs, and I think you’re Spartan-IIs in multiplayer

No, every spartan in multiplayer is a IV.

I think the point is to separate the story characters from your own spartan. If you join some of those ridiculous clan recruitment custom games, you’ll see a bunch of wannabe Chiefs standing around. With the way armors work right now, every one of them looks weird and thankfully nothing like Chief. Otherwise it would be diluting his uniqueness if anyone could play dress up and look like one of the most respectable and accomplished spartans. A similar argument can be applied to the other characters in campaign.
Side note, as far as I recall, none of the other games allowed you to make your spartan look like any of the characters in the campaign. They might come close but something would always be off.

The only Spartan II’s you play as in Halo 5 are the members of Blue Team. Fireteam Osiris and the Multiplayer Spartans are Spartan IV’s.
While I do like the Helljumper armor and love how there is even a little heart with “B+V” etched into it, I hate how that the second variant of the armor basically puts a big smiley face on your chest that you can’t get rid of. Like half of the armors in game have little details or accents on them that remain no matter what color your armor is.
I think it may have been 343i’s intention to keep the armor of the characters (and by extension, the characters themselves) unique and separate from multiplayer. As someone already pointed out. Having a bunch of players look like Chief (or any other character) would dilute that character’s appearance. Plus, since multiplayer is now canon, it would not make any sense to have these characters appear both in campaign and multiplayer. Keeps the hard core lore people (like me) happy!
They need to bring back the Samurai sword and helmet from Halo 3…
Well, I hate the white/yellow/green stripes on the armors, for example, Helljumper looks very ugly with that… I agree with you OP.

Hayabusa? That one was an exclusive for Halo 3 because a spartan appears in a Dead or Alive game… So Bungie had the licenses to use the look of Ryu Hayabusa outfit and create that armor, but 343i can create a new one inspired in ninjas (they tried something like that with the Tenshin armor).
Maybe change the visor and it will give you that campaign looking feeling…
i just want black under-suits back, and less white spots on the armor.
