(I’m going to leave this same comment on both youtube and waypoint)
Due to your outro, I’m ASSUMING you use After Effects? (The shockwave effect is popular with after effects and 3D text but of course I could be wrong)
So, for your clips; they’re good, fine, I have nothing negative to say about them
Editing though, you use waaaaaay too many lens flares, and they’re placed in random/out of place spots on the screen. And I watch and like Digital Virus’ videos.
(Sorry if you don’t get that joke)
Put the flares in spots that are already emitting light, not just randomly on the screen somewhere. Kinda just looks like that was the default spot it puts it and you never moved any of them, and plus there’s too many. If you’re going to use lens/optical flares they shouldn’t be in every clip one after another but put spaced out in just a few to make them look more special or important when they do appear.
Also, your video looks washed out. IF you’re using after effects (or many other programs have editing tools quite similar) used the “Curves” option under Color Correction and slightly lower the line in the left half area and slightly highten it at the rightish area. That alone will make it look better and not washed out, also, colour correction/toner can make it look more appealing to the audience as well, and maybe even saturation/vibrancy can go the certain mile you need on some of the clips.
On top of that, the best way to make that widescreen/letterbox look it seems like you went for is to change the composition size to a 1080 format. (1920 Width, 1080 Hight)
And then make sure your clips fit in that size, (so enlarge if necessary) and then UNLOCK the “Lock Aspect Ratio” button and reduce the hight to 800. (So 1920x800) and you’ll have the perfect letterbox size!
Hope this all helps you! (or anyone else reading)
