This guy has hit the nail on the head of some of the things I’ve been trying to say recently, and he said it long before halo 5 even came out.
I am am so profoundly frustrated with Halo right now, that I crushed by controller, nearly shattered my hand in the process, and had the delusional idea to actuall rewrite halo, rebooting it all the way back from the First Halo. As much as my sad little endeavor could save halo, it won’t. It never will. It will never happen. Might compile the notes anyway to entertain myself, so I can look at it in 10 years and sigh ar the fact halo has died with a sad whimper by that point.

It’s probably awful, I’ll own up to it. Original trilogy’s story would remain almost conpletely unchanged.
Halo 4 on? The story’s nuts. Message me if you really wanna hear some ideas, I’m not keen on sharing much publicly yet if ever.

The multiplayer gameplay is pretty good at its core. There are so many issues and bits of wasted potential, though, it’s hard for me to like it sometimes. That said I have to make it very clear I still love halo, and halo 5 is still no exception to that law of the universe. I’m just irked and off-put by so many things at this point.
Favyn is a good kid. I’m a subscriber. And he’s even right about some things once in a while. But ultimately what he says is just opinion. They’re the opinions of someone who wants the game to be a certain way. You obviously want the game to be that way too. I fall into a different camp. I wasn’t even remotely disappointed with Halo 4 and I’m enjoying Halo 5 even more. I’m sorry so many people are disappointed, but that has nothing to do with specific decisions about this or that game feature - that disappointment is just baked into the nature of an evolving multi-title franchise. The developer cannot change even one little thing without getting, at a minimum, resistance from some, and at worst, bitter and angry spite from many. Things like game play mechanics will always be controversial, but subjective elements like the quality of the stories are, to my way of thinking, the one thing that you just have to accept. It’s their story to tell, not yours, not mine.
In the end, if you can’t load the game without feeling like you’re immediately assaulted by things you hate… well, then it may just be time for you and Halo to part company. I’m not saying you’re not entitled to your opinion - you most definitely are. But if (that opinion + the game = misery) then it’s time for a break. Just sayin’.

I’d give up if they weren’t doing some other absolutely beautiful things. I’m assaulted by both astounding beauty and grotesque adulteration at the same time.
