So 343 didn’t include playable Sangheili at release, but what about later down the line? 343 said they couldn’t work on it right away but now they could. After all since its taking them a little while to do forge why not work on making elites playable too? People may ask*“How will 343 balance the two races? Or will it just be an elite skin but with spartan abilities?”*
Heres my idea. 343 should do what they did in Halo Reach, Elites were faster, had stronger melee, higher jump and stronger shields, however they were big and easy to spot. And instead of spartan abilities the Sangheili have their own abilities to replace them:
Sprint=Sprint.
Clamber- Climb.
Spartan Slide and Thruster Pack=Elite Evade. Basically they can do evade rolls instead of slide
Spartan Slam: Sangheili Slash. Elites would use their famed strength to rush their foes and the animation is them drawing an energy dagger and slash at their foes.
Ground Pound= Elite pound?
So many possibilities here and of course it works with the lore since there is the Swords of Sanghelios and the Anvil Initiative. This can be beneficial for bring back huge populations that left after Halo 4 and of course allow machinima makers to have elites back.
The problem with Sangheili’s in Arena would be Head Placement. I remember issue where an Elite could be shooting you from a corner in the head, while you’re peeking out from a different corner, but were unable to hit them in the head. If they were able to balance the location of their head, then it would be great. However, since I don’t think they can do that without increasing the size of the ‘headshot’ hitbox, it might be difficult to balance for ‘Ranked’ matches. I could CERTAINLY see them in Warzone or a Social Playlist though.
I remember a lot of players had issues in reach due to that hit box setup, agree it would be nice but balancing would be rough at first and we would get even more to unlock in reqs

i think all the work would be worth it for Elite Slayer alone. i loved it.

You didn’t see the Arbiter busting moves, and climbing high walls like he just came from an Assassins Creed game in the Campaign?
Also, since the elites in the campaign are seen with those thruster packs, it’s safe to say that they can use the spartan abilities. However, the idea’s in this thread are better.

Halo 5 Elite models are not Halo 3 Elite models… Why do people keep using head placement as an argument? The Elite model has been completely differently and shaped more upright for almost 6 years now. Even in Reach they could be headshot from behind and from the side…
