now I know they said they won’t when halo 5 released. But I really think behind closed doors they are working there butt off to add split screen to halo 5. With the millions of complaints and comments and also Bonnie Ross saying that soon this year they have exciting news for Halo 5 that I think it could be split screen. Let’s be honest here really, halo 5 didn’t have split screen not because the game couldn’t handle it but it was time. Halo mcc running 4 games can have split screen, Star Wars with crazy graphics and 60fps does split screen, cod split screen. Halo 5 could do split screen but I think they had to pick and choose at the end. I mean look how much content was missing at launch. But now that they Launched the game and that a release of there shoulders I really think they have the time to put split screen in with time and effort. Now maybe I could be completely wrong but then again what if I am rite. I’m not betting but if I could I would bet halo 5 gets split screen update this year. I know most are like U are crazy but really think about it. If they want split screen they could but they have to work at it. What do you think?
I wouldn’t get your hopes up, OP.
I’ve heard that the game can’t due to the physics engine needing a full 60 fps all the time, but they did talk about Halo 5 having big news.
Ya I hear you Andy but let’s hope
I really hope so. Not getting my hopes up, but it is disappointing not having it. It’s how many players are introduced to the game and I think they are cutting off a chunk of their possible audience.

There is already a mega thread for split screen, move this there.
The graphics don’t have to run at 60fps, but the physics and hitboxes do. When you play warzone, stay at the home base a minute and watch the running animations as people get farther away, eventually it gets down to around 5-10fps (graphically) I don’t see why you couldn’t take a frame rate drop in graphics, while still maintaining the game mechanics frame rate, like the other Halo games did. It wouldn’t effect people who were playing single players, it would only effect those who were using split screen. While I am a huge supporter of split screen, if it were to be online (I usually only play split screen campaign, it shouldn’t be used in ranked playlists.
Man I’d be soo mad. We just spent $300 dollars on a new Xbox One so me and my sister can play together. /s
But, if it really was added, I’d give props to 343i for making it work, and letting all those that couldn’t get a second Xbox to play with their friends/relatives once again

Microsoft said the same thing about backwards compatibility that they couldn’t do it…not long after they did. I wouldn’t be surprised if 343i added it in later due to the backlash they had with removing it but that’s as likely as seeing playable Elites in Halo 5 so I doubt it too.
Don’t play with my heart OP.
Well, if you buy their excuse about the engine not being able to function below 60fps, then I doubt it will happen as it would take a lot of programming to make it work. I also wonder how much they really care about adding things the community wants since we are still waiting on Infection and Oddball. If they actually did add it though, it would do a lot to actually get me back into the game.
I wonder what the actual big news is…
I think you should never use clickbait titles like that again.
No, the “surprise” is most likely just them referring to future content updates.
Feel free to use the splitscreen thread.
