Halo 5 Matchmaking Ranking System

Hey guys, so starting off i just want to do a back drop of the point im going to do my best to get across here. Halo 2 and halo 3, any halo fan would say that one of those two games are the best of the franchise, or equals of one another. These were the most purchased and the most played. Now what did they have in common? Well it was a lot of things. One being a deep and touching story. But lets just talk about the multiplayer aspect that kept the games alive so so so long. THE RANKING SYTEM, every halo player had one goal. To achieve that LVL 50 in a playlist. This competitive ranking system separated it from COD. Halo creating something that forced you to work as a team, strategize, and call out opponents. If you didnt do these things, you would never increase your rank. THIS RANKING SYSTEM CREATED WHAT WE ALL LOVED. Halo reach, decent game. What did it lack? A strong ranking system that halo players crave. In reach you didnt have to work together, your rank was based off experience. Who cares if you won or lost, you would get the same amount of lvl increase. Which is why reach lost its value. Halo 4, god almighty halo 4. That game didnt last a week, and that is because no one felt the need to achieve the ranks. There was no respect for the players rank. NO ONE CARED ABOUT your “SR” rank. It didnt matter at all, unlike halo2&3 where you see a lvl 50 and youre immediately intimidated. The purpose of this post is try and persuade 343 industries (great company) to please please please give us our old ranking system in halo 5. This separates us from the COD players. And forcing us spartans to work as a unit. Which creates so many positive things. Thank you for reading, your respones can help keep our future halos interesting.

I’m pretty sure a ranking system is already confirmed, but if you want Halo to be “separate” from CoD you better ask them to not put it in, because Advanced Warfare has one too…

Have you played the BETA? They actually do have a ranking system where they put you in a certain TIER based on your performance.
If you win, then you work towards increasing your rank within the tier and moving up into the higher tier. If you lose, then it will have the reverse effect and you can de-level.
It is essentially what H2 and H3 had, however they are mixing it up with a bit of Star Craft it seems. I will still get intimidated if I see a player with a “Semi-Pro” rank matched up against me? Heck… Even the ONYX is quite an achievement.

There is a skill ranking system already that is based of off LoL and starcraft . Halo reach did have a skill ranking system which is called Arena ( which is also like LoL and starcraft) and it had a progression system which is the Cr which is what you are talking about . Halo 5 also has a progression ranking system like Halo 4 and reach.

I agree absolutely with OP except for all you said on H5. H5 actually has a better ranking system than Halo 2 and 3 where there was no way to differentiate 50\s from 50\s. Now there is. There are 50\s that are good and 50\s that are bad. Now you will actually see that difference hugely.
