Halo 5 Matchmaking NEEDS this! PUT IT IN PLEASE D:

Ok, so how many of you Halo players play alone?
How many of you Halo players play with a few friends?
How many of you Halo players play with a full team?

Well, the thing is, most players play alone. That doesn’t mean that we should just make Halo better for lonewolves while throwing out the people who play with friends, right? I mean Halo is so much more fun while playing with friends, but the thing is, lone wolves have such a disadvantage while playing alone! How do we solve this?

Well, one thing is for sure. In competitive gametypes, having a team that you are able to communicate and coordinate with gives you so much of an advantage over players who aren’t able to communicate or coordinate with others at all. To fix this problem, we must bring back Halo 3’s search style. If you are unfamiliar with this searching style, it goes a little like this:

Teams of 4 match against Teams of 4
Teams of 3 match against Teams of 3
Teams of 2 or 1 get to play against other Teams of 2 or 1.

This way we have a BALANCE. No more full teams of four wailing on four players who have never seen one another play. Implementing this search style will make games more fun and more fair for everybody. On the battlefield, everybody will start out equal. One team will not have bigger advantages in communication or coordination than the other team. That way, you are pitting groups against groups and individuals against individuals.

Halo 5’s competitive rankings have a lot to do with wins, and winning is a lot harder when you are by yourself than when you are with a team. Using Halo 3’s Team-Size searching structure, we will be able to match player vs player and team vs team, and give a fair playing ground to those who have been at a disadvantage for years.

BENEFITS:
1.) Matchmaking is more even and more fair.
2.) Skill rankings and leaderboards are more accurate for individual players.
3.) Individual players won’t feel left out or swarmed.
4.) Teams will get to practice against other teams!

–PLEASE NOTE: This idea would work to perfection in 4v4 and 2v2 playlists, and may harm the search time of larger playlists (such as Warzone, with 32 players).

Agreed, I don’t know about Halo 2 too long since I played it but did that not use the same system? Please correct me if I am wrong. I can vouch for this kind of system though as MM in Halo the MCC and the Halo 5 beta weren’t great for wanting a casual game solo as no matter how good you are you had a chance of coming up against a team of 4 half decent players, while on your team you get matched with a bunch of thumbless morons.

Warzone has 24 players, not 32. Just a quick correction.

They’ve tried doing this with past games. Its a good idea, but it fails, more often than not, to do what it should.

I would rather have the emphasis be put on network quality #1, similarly skilled players #2, matchmaking connection time #3, and finally similar party size #4.

IMO - assuming that network quality is not a primary factor, then a higher ranked team of random players should still easily defeat a lower ranked team in a party of 4.

Halo needs to evolve, everything that was in previous games needs to go and we will wait until other modern shooters come up with new ideas before implementing them into Halo
