At the moment matchmaking in the Halo 5 Beta is working very poorly. It sometimes takes multiple attempts to find a match after getting multiple erros saying I couldn’t join a match because of issues with the Halo servers or some other issue.
Matchmaking MUST work at launch to ensure a safe future for Halo 5 and the future of the Halo franchise. Halo MCC’s matchmaking is still a disaster but I’m patient with it but I won’t be patient with Halo 5. Halo 5 has lots of potential and this full potential needs to be achieved by making sure matchmaking WORKS ON LAUNCH or Halo 5 will already create a bad first impression which is something Halo can NOT use right now.

I think they already know Matchmaking has to work. If they haven’t learned that from the MCC release, there’s really no hope for them. Halo, nor 343 themselves can have an other MM fiasco. If MM doesn’t work in H5, they’re gonna lose a lot of their hardcore fans.
I would also like dedicated servers in Europe. As a UK player, the lag at times, makes it impossible to confidently play. Halo has always been an awkward online experience for non-US players and unless this has servers in Europe, then it’s going to fail outside the US.
I love Halo, I love the mechanics and the way it plays. No matter what people think of the way the series is going, Halo 5 is definitely the purest console arena FPS. But it would find a greater audience if they make sure to cater for players outside of the US.
I hope and I trust they will make DAMN sure it’ll work near perfect. They better…
Don’t preorder it. If 343i doesn’t see that they have money in their pocket before the game’s release, they’ll have much more pressure to produce a working product at launch.
