Hey Americans, how are you liking your super fast matchmaking? Cause down under in New Zealand, it’s absolutely horrible. What’s that? It’s not your problem? Well true, but I swear I could go to MCC right now and find a game faster than what it takes to find a match in Halo 5: Guardians.
But I’m not going to be like that because I want to play this game, I want to keep trying. I know dedicated servers are great and all, but it seriously ruins the point of Xbox Live when you can’t be matchmade with someone internationally who has a latency higher than 100ms. Now I know you shouldn’t care because this is an “every man for himself” world we live in, but I think that 343i should at least make a social playlist where the latency cap isn’t so freaking strict, because what do you have to lose in a non-ranked matchmade game?
Look, I’m not blaming the matchmaking system for anything, I can only blame my country’s bad internet compared to everyone else in the world. It just feels more limited now that I cannot play with my American friends who I have spent years playing Halo with (Boohoo sob story). And finding NZ/AUS players ON THE WORLD WIDE WEB, is just as hard as finding a needle in a haystack.
I’m not here to say “URGH FIX THIS ISSUE NOW OR I’LL SELL THIS GAME!” I’m just here to point out there is a huge problem plaguing the international players from enjoying Matchmaking with our US friends and I hope this will get fixed soon enough. I want to keep playing this game, I really do, but with the Campaign the way it is (meh) and Forge not here yet, without Matchmaking, there is sweet FA to do in this game.
