I recently just got banned from Halo 5 matchmaking. It says that the ban is in effect for quitting, betrayal, suicide, etc. but I have not done any of these things on purpose. The last several games I have played the game has gone laggy and then ended like any other game with poor connection. I checked my connection and it was fine, so I figured that it had something to do with the servers or something. But then it told me that the ban was in effect and I figured there was more to it than I know and I’m not sure what to do.
At any rate, I cannot play Halo 5 matchmaking, and this is a bummer. I have been banned and I am unsure as to why… Any help?
The ban normally has a time period. As for help do not quit, betray, or suicide multiple times in the game.
It should only ban you as a side effect of saying “leave” or turning the game/xbox off. Or going afk.
That sucks man. Sometimes the ban hammer doesn’t distinguish between those who quit voluntarily and those who quit when connections are bad. Hope it ends soon!
Yea unfortunately it’s an algorithm and since it’s a computer it has no way to distinguish between a quit and a DC. That’s why I’m against ridiculously high bans. An hour or a day or 2 if it’s bad, but some people want weeks and perma bans which IMO is just retarded.

It’s not my place to pass judgment; only the Banhammer can decide who plays and who must sit in time out.
You might need to check your network settings – apparently Halo 5 has some special needs that people have to set up to maintain stable connections to the servers.
you have A LOT of DNFs in your history, the ban is warranted for sure. Not all of them could be from DCs, and if they are, you should REALLY call your provider and see if they can reset your modem (or check you router settings).

Yeah I’ve getting the same thing as you. I lose connection from warzone and arena and I get a ban for poor connection, and I checked halo waypoint for more info and there is no ban for that. I’ve played this since 28/10/2015 and this started after Christmas

I can consider myself a patient player rather than a quitting one, because even after this problem that occurs every single time I play Arena, I keep trying to play. This has been happening throughout january, thats why the ban time has been build up to 7 days. Even on my birthday when I thought I was going to play a few matches with my friends I also got banned, thank you 343…
After contacting my provider and microsoft, forwarding ports and asking for help on forums it’s confirmed to me it’s not my connection. I’m getting little to no help, but I still want to bring out the word. I know for a fact that there are a lot of players out there that have been through this.
