Over the years the chief has retained a similar look. Despite shifting from rigid angular armour to more organic sleek armour he is easily recognisable as the chief.
At the end of Halo 4 we see the chiefs armour dropping to the ground. It’s been through a lot and clearly it’s time for an upgrade.
With access to much more advanced technology the chiefs armour could look quite different to what we are used too seeing. It’s possible he could be used to test prototype armour with new abilities and could even carry a new visual IP for halo.
On top of that it’s entirely possible the UNSC would prefer to have the chief wearing more team based colours. Amongst all the Spartan IV’s the chief looks a bit out of place with his Gold Visor and Sage colouring.
Personally I would love too see an entirely new set of armour for the chief but perhaps 343I feels differently.
Do you want to see a new chief? Or would you rather he kept his classic stylings?
I would accept halo 4 chief’s armour for halo 5 if the original Mark VI was used for halo 4. I mean his current armour looks too much like the mjolnir gen 2 that the IVs are currently using, which despite being purely artistic, makes no sense.
I would rather not see his appearance change, particularly since his new armour is characteristic even though it is noticeably different.
A good job on 343’s part.
To be honest, if they made shield regen quicker in H5, which they should, and they removed the dents and melted sections from his armour while leaving the overall design it would be fine.

The thing about a design is, it’s all opinion. Now from both a technical and aesthetic point of view I think 343I did an amazing job with the chiefs armour in Halo 4.
That said i’m not saying you have to like it but rather than indiscriminately disliking something, care to share with us why you don’t like it? I’m curious.
Maybe chief will get mjolnir mark VIII because Naomi recieved MKVII in 2553 and gen 2 is just a cheaper alternative of MK VII, and halsey has had plenty of time to spend on designing mark viii and maybe chief could be the first spartan to use the armor.

I never said I didn’t like the Chief’s armor in Halo 4. What I don’t like is the Spartan-IV armor, especially the helmets. In my opinion they simply alienate too much from what a Spartan is supposed to look like. I’m just not fond of visorless helmets, unicorn helmets, transformer helmets, and helmets with floppy disc drives on them.

Haha, sorry I misread your post (I was on Spartan Ops). I rather like the helmets without visors, or at least some of them. The protector helmet looks great. Scanner I agree with you on, I would love to see the helmet redesigned without the massive block. The Unicorn helmet is just a fun thing, like flames or the haunted helmet. Also the FOTUS arms, legs and shoulders are some of the best armour designs in the game.
As for what a spartan is support to look like, well a spartan is meant to represent the pinnacle of the UNSC’s technology. If they have the tech then it would be wrong for it to go to waste. Visorless helmets are a total breakthrough as it makes it harder to identify the direction a spartan is facing and the location of it’s head. That said i’m sure the chief will still have a visor.
