Just for fun I decided to try and remake the recently teased Halo 5 map in Halo 4. Obviously it’s not going to 100% correct but it’s an interesting idea of what the map might look like so go check it out.

I’m rather impressed how you managed to get a sense for the design with just those screenshots. Like you said, probably not 100% accurate, but still pretty impressive.
Good forging too, nice and clean, pretty aesthetics. Looks like a genuinely enjoyable map. The tac jumps were a nice addition. Good guesswork overall, wouldn’t even mind it if that’s how the actual map looked (though I will say there’s some rather long lines of site that could use some changes.)
As for the lighting glitch you mentioned where all the blocks lose their lighting, it’s a bug with Halo 4’s forge. There’s a block budget and there’s also a hidden lighting budget. Larger, more complex pieces (decoration pieces and buildings specifically) are hard on the lighting engine and excessive use of them tends to break it. There should be a guide for it somewhere, though the two sites that I know had it are now gone, so I can’t really help you with that.
I will say the back area could use a little more details, possibly some line of sight breakers on the long hallways, and I’d have to agree that the one portion of the base you mentioned that you hated could use some work (it’s not particularly bad). Overall it’s very well made, certainly better than what I would have come up with.
