The reason I’ve stopped playing Halo 5 is that there isn’t really a steady goal for the casual player. It’s just gamble, rinse, and repeat, whether it be in dollars, pounds, or “REQ Points”. The only progression in the game is the SR Level, which seems completely arbitrary in that it makes no difference in what you unlock or obtain. In Halo 3, Reach, and 4 you could always do more to unlock new armors, either by earning it through progressive rank, or by completing a specific task. Sure Reach and 4 never made any sort of appeal to the hardcore gamer, 5 ONLY appeals to the hardcore gamer. Correct me if I’m wrong here, but if I’m not mistaken Halo 3 made a steady balance between the two and maintained it properly. I’d like to see that again. And as a disclaimer, I’m not here to bash on 343i, but I just want to make a suggestion that they appeal to all types of Halo players when they create their games. It would keep me much more interested than I have been, and I have a number of friends who agree.
While it doesn’t feel like there are many social playlists, it’s mostly because they’re at the bottom of the list or in the warzone section. Think about it: social has got grifball, action sack, infection, big team battle, the weekly playlist, warzone, warzone assault and firefight. Compare that to breakout, team arena, slayer, swat, double teams and ffa. 8 social playlists vs 6 ranked playlists that I can think of

Like this guy said the game is actuallt very social as it is. Its just the players tend to be very competitive in warzone game modes, BTB and occasionally the featured playlists and as for the other social playlists they are more or less on the casual end.
Yeah, I guess I just miss earning the armors and stuff that shows you did something in particular. Maybe “casual” isn’t the right word.
